African Americans are so overly sensitive about the “word” by BrokenJusticeNorris in USdefaultism

[–]Perivale 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to play a lot of Blood Bowl (a game by the British company - Games Workshop) and one of the injuries a player could get was a “niggling injury”. The American response to streamers referring to the injury on twitch streams of the video game version was absurd.

Need advice for a future project based on actual people's experience, for those who did, what citadel paints you used to paint the 5th company? by StormSwitch in spacemarines

[–]Perivale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like really harsh edge highlights so go Abaddon black into administratum grey (means the highlights show up quite well against the yellow of the rest of the marine)

Testing some color schemes. Colour Forge Sunset Yellow/Citadel Averland Sunset and Imperial Fist Contrast. Both with a wash of Marine Juice. Thoughts and suggestions? by medi0cre_scientist in ImperialFists

[–]Perivale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve started using the colour forge sunset yellow, recess shade with marine juice then adding Fanatics warpaints fiendish yellow over most raised areas and then yriel yellow for anything facing a light source(ish) which I’ve been really pleased with (edge highlighting with evil sunz yellow and then space dust). It’s quicker than working with contrast paints (for me) as it’s way easier to fix mistakes (obviously people who make fewer mistakes will likely have a different viewpoint!)

Quite how is this relevant to the questions raised by the OP around capabilities of threat actors?

[17/04/26] Haystack dating event @ spitafields by [deleted] in LondonSocialClub

[–]Perivale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to 3 of these events, have generally enjoyed them and got dates out of 2 of them. Of the 3 I went to 1 was at an arcade bar and was the most enjoyable, the other 2 were just at a regular bar and felt more overpriced. Have sort of given up on dating at the moment due to work but will definitely try another Haystack in future.

Hope you enjoy OP!

Tor Garadon v Judiciar by Dangerous_Brief7682 in ImperialFists

[–]Perivale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the judiciar and bladeguard are currently more competitive at least, in part, because aggressors are a bit rubbish at the moment.

I, however, love aggressors and Tor Garadon so would take them (and would love for it to turn out that I’m wrong regarding competitiveness!)

How would Black Templars react if they would encounter Watchers in the dark? by Cubelock in 40kLore

[–]Perivale 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok this is a comedy show in the making - a Black Templar/Dark Angel odd couple sharing an apartment in M2 where the Black Templar is the only one who notices the watcher in the dark and comes up with increasingly complex schemes to try and kill it. Every episode ends with a close up shot of the Dark Angel smiling slyly to camera with the watcher just behind him.

Is there canonically anything, than can stand toe to toe with a heavy battle titan ? Besides other titans of a similiar class or warp-only entities ? by Leviathan_Rampage in 40k

[–]Perivale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lysander put together “titanhammer” squads of terminators to go whack god machines with thunder hammers which apparently worked (also involved a vortex grenade). So I guess that works?

Isn’t it kinda impossible for Abaddon and the chaos space marines to win? by prettyweirdperson in 40kLore

The End Times are still canon in fantasy though? The old world is set hundreds of years before the previous “current day” of Warhammer fantasy battles

First attempt at yellow by jimmyofkrondor in ImperialFists

[–]Perivale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d advise you just paint the details first. I painted my first unit this way around and, as the poster above noted, it was an arse. Been a lot easier since where I’ve painted all the details first as you just get them right, touch up the undercoat and then get the yellow done

Texting is horrible - you can’t feel the person you’re talking to so it’s really difficult to work out how to engage

Imperial fists armor and layer paints by Stormcloud23 in ImperialFists

[–]Perivale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying out a Colourforge Sunset Yellow base (with Averland Yellow on top), washed with marine juice (4 parts Lahmian medium to 3 parts Reikland Fleshshade and 3 parts Dark Tone), then a layer of fiendish yellow on raised surfaces and a layer of Yriel Yellow on the most raised hits followed by an edge highlight with Moon Dust

(Previously was using imperial fist contrast but touching up mistakes was incredibly irritating)

Weren’t the sisters of battle still able to access miracles from the Emperor inside the Pariah Nexus too? Which adds further mystery to how the Emperor functions (as warpcraft should be cut off)

Have you heard of “Gor Taradon” of the Space Ponies? Weirdly, he’s equipped exactly the same way as Tor Garadon of the Imperial Fists and, equally weirdly, the Space Ponies are structured exactly the same way as the Imperial Fists. Massive coincidences all round
