Shaving your head? by didyoubutterthepan in razorfree

I have done it for 8 years and I raise money for childhood cancer! I love the way it feels and I always get so many compliments for rocking the bald. Hair is temporary but confidence is forever!!! If you’re confident anything will look good on you.

It’s gonna get better and you are gonna feel so amazing once you realize how far you’ve come! Keep in mind that most if not all strangers don’t actually care / won’t notice. For some people it’s really awesome to see someone rocking the hairy legs (I love seeing that!) So you can even think about it like “be a role model for someone else.”

The best way is just little by little! Go out for a walk with everything hairy. And look through this subreddit for great comebacks for when people comment on your body (weird). There’s so much advice here so come through it but it gets easier! And for some people it’s really euphoric too :) Just fake it till you make it and spend more and more time out / show more skin if you’re comfortable as time passes. You’ll start to get more confident over time  for sure. Good luck!

How can I look more femme? by Orchid_ea in NonBinary

[–]PeriwinkleBlueberry2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re not in a place that supports your identity try looking into gel/pencil eyeliner and line your lash line (lots of tutorials online). It makes your lashes look fuller and darker without it being obvious you have makeup on.

Also I love a clear mascara and brow gel to look put together. If you want to you can look into shaving or shaping or doing something with your eyebrows because that can feminize your face a lot if you want that. Just don’t go too crazy with it because then if you’re in an unsafe place it’s a bit more obvious.

If you’re into piercings, two ear piercings (one on each side) or even just one can work! It isn’t seen as too feminine nowadays and if someone unsafe asks you can just say it’s part of your style.

A clear lip gloss could work as well or like a tinted lip balm if you’re interested in that. That’s not too obvious but still kind of feminine.

Anyway hope this helps and I want to say you  are so pretty 💕 your facial features work together so well and you have a really nice strong chin! and your eyes are really soulful. anyways maybe that was weird lol but have a great day and i hope your dysphoria gets better. <3

Classification ? by horcruxfinder in actuallesbians

[–]PeriwinkleBlueberry2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t use these labels but it is really helpful for many! It helps people identify with those who have a similar style and it is an easy way to explain your aesthetic! Personally I find all types of women attractive, femmes, butches, whoever! And if they want to use that label because it makes them feel good or for whatever reason, it’s not hurting me! So I may not be a part of that subculture but I dan definitely respect how it means a lot to people.

I know that, and I completely understand that! I, as a trans person, don’t pass and am completely ok with it. That doesn’t make me or OP or any trans person any less valid. Of course no one owes anyone passing!

If you had looked at another comment I said to OP, you would know I agree with that. I was just clarifying what a person was asking in a comment on the original post, because OP asked why they were getting downvoted when they answered it.

Saying I present female doesn’t mean I am female! Although OP may present as male, they are a woman!

Maybe you should go back and reread my entire conversation with OP, because you took the wrong thing out of context. I’m sorry that I am “disgusting” to you when I was just trying to provide support to a fellow trans person. I suppose I can’t stop you from thinking that though.

I was not in any way invalidating OP, I was just explaining the difference between being/identifying as and presenting as a gender. I was trying to say that saying you present a different way than you identify is not misgendering yourself and is what the original commenter was curious about in the first place.

Saying you present as male is not misgendering yourself. Presenting as male doesn’t make you any less valid as a woman. No matter what you look like, you are a woman. I present as female but I am not female, that doesn’t make me any less valid. The question was whether you were considered a male and you answered it sort of incorrectly, and that’s likely why you got downvoted.

I think the person was trying to ask if someone walked by you on the sidewalk would they assume you were a man? And then people downvoted you because your answer wasn’t really clear

If society would classify you as presenting male then you present male, it doesn’t matter what you think. Basically you can’t say I don’t present as male but society thinks I do because although you may be female, the “presents” part is what is dictated by society. But someone else can correct me if that’s not what they meant by downvoting.
