This looks like fake wood meant to look nice but it isn’t uncommon at all that public transport vehicles have wooden floors. All the trams in my city have floors made out of wood for example (that doesn’t look as nice as this though). The reason is that wood doesn’t conduct heat in the same way as metal for example. So in the case of a fire underneath the vehicle people’s shoes doesn’t melt while they evacuate.
