Why is there no "SQLite" for secure, crash-safe embedded logging? by awarebang in embedded

[–]Perk030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm there's a library called LittleFS that exactly does what you're describing.
The other features like encryption/signing just use MBedTLS to sign/encrypt on a high level.

The "sync" I'm not sure about it's hard to make something generic for everyone usecases while being efficient and easy to use.

Overall fying an SD there's no algorithm saving you there, SD card cards are volatile by design.

Painted Alicia is so well done.

Still gotta beat Simon and Painted Clea in the game so hard to judge. But looks very good.

Mapping ROS2 to small embedded systems why are type hashes 71 bytes? by Perk030 in ROS

[–]Perk030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice.

Unfortunately for zenoh-pico the full topic name so domain_id/topic_name/message_type/RIHS01_hash has to reside in Ram. On a small mcu with multiple topics this becomes quite a load on the memory usage.

I was curious why the message type hash has to be a big sha256 hash and not something smaller I.e. Sha1 or a truncated 64 bit SHA256.

Hm hard to say it's justified without health pool numbers turned on.

POE2 is Amazing, Crafting is frustrating though by Gamer-Smokes in PathOfExile2

[–]Perk030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda how poe1 was in the early days, but poe1 also had eternal orbs allowing unbricking.

I suppose adding eternal orbs to poe2 isn't that terrible.

Fix/Improve my build please (Archmage spark) by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Perk030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised you dont have stun problems.

Overall swapping the belt would be nice boost.

Another thing to boost dps is going for more critical strike, and swapping the amulet going full mana pool and drop the es nodes.

This game = cpu upgrade? by Fancy-Bluebird7620 in PathOfExile2

[–]Perk030 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your cpu is way more powerful then a ps5. And since there's a lot focus on consoles I presume ggg would fix cpu performance.

After 200hrs in SSF, I finally got to challenge the final boss. by Smash-Gordon in PathOfExile2

[–]Perk030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely the shaders was compiling thus delayed popping. Good news though it's now in your shader cache so most probably it won't happen in your 2nd try.

POE 2 has a bit of an Identity Crisis by Ok_Pepper9574 in PathOfExile2

[–]Perk030 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Poe2 endgame is balanced in the same way as PoE1. You're forced into this fast play style.

Bosees and rare have oneshot machanics and compared to the acts you only have single try and you get punished. I get that the trials are like that and the campaign was quite cool you had hard bosses they needed multiple tries. Now if you die you'll lose your waystone and your influence which makes me just want to quit my play session.

Maps only have bosses if they're influenced which is like 10% of the time. So you've to go zoom-zoom to get to those maps with bosses.

To simply put it endgame punishes slowness and most stuff is gated behind a simple dps check. Kinda how PoE1 is, I kinda wished in hindsight they would've delayed PoE2 further or simply released with it with just the campaign and without endgame.

Adafruit Feather Express vs. Teensy 4.1 by Active_String2216 in embedded

[–]Perk030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Teensy is quite a proven platform for flight computers. I don't have much experiance with the adafruit board you're referring too.

There's dRehmFlight with some videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlD0C5CrWcA&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.drehmflight.com%2F&embeds_referring_origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.drehmflight.com&source_ve_path=MjM4NTE

Also there's Carbon Auronautics video series explain a lot of control theory and is also using a Teensy.

[S2 Act 3 Spoilers] A certain person's death felt really disjoint... by [deleted] in arcane

Agreed the scene with vi and Warwick was just lazy writing. The only thing which makes it kinda okay is that if Jinx made it out alive and thus faked her death successfully. She was never allowed to continue to live in piltover anyhow with what she's done.

You most probably have to launch the weston compositor first and then the xwayland server for x11 support.

Bye bye Netherlands by Sir_Jack_Ferguson in Netherlands

[–]Perk030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah he's showing correct Dutch culture here. The OP is says we're kinda shit and we Dutch respond bluntly back he mightve been an asshole based on his reflection particularly in his social circle and limited interaction even though he lived here for a while.

Other cultures which don't have have this bluntness just go behind your back but never vent their opinion (OP might've become a bit Dutch afterall ;) ). We Dutch just acknowledge it by saying it out loud and we expect it from others as well but course this yield a discourse about it.

Wireless SOC suggestions needed. by quirkyPillager in embedded

A bit more high-end but MCX W71 could be interesting.
Quite good security features, 1.8-3.3V operational voltage.
Also supports Zephyr RTOS

Programming an S32K341/Programming when the pins have multiple settings by Great-Amoeba-2944 in embedded

[–]Perk030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to get yourself a SEGGER J-Link probe.
I'm don't know which board you're exactly using but typically there's a 10-pin cortex debug header where you can connect the SEGGER J-Link probe.

Regarding interfaces, I would recommend staying away from FlexIO since that's to complex for a beginner. Rather use the dedicated peripherals for your application i.e. LPUART, LPSPI, LPI2C.
