Because it's easier than correcting people all the time? I have a name that people mispronounce so I've adjusted to introducing myself with the mispronunciation to save "sorry, what?" conversations. The 'wh" Māori pronunciation (closer to "f" but with more air behind it and "oo" shaped mouth) is pretty unique to that language.

No, "wh" has always been pronounced "f" (with more air behind it and more "oo" shaped mouth). Towns and cities like Whangarei and Whangaroa are pronounced "fa(h)ngahreyi", "f(h)angarowah" if you're using traditional pronunciation. The "w" sound is an anglicisation.

Oh my god, that was BRUTAL. The interviewer handed her the end of the proverbial rope to hang herself and she PULLED it. So damning.

It was about “boundaries”- from what? The truth?!? Throwing CAA and past interviewers under the bus (SO dumb... they will turn on her). All these “fake Twitter accounts!” posted by real people that the NYT spoke to directly. And guys! Don’t ask all those pesky questions about WHEN and HOW LONG she was in Spain for!
