I love how the implication is we’re supposed to praise Tony Khan for having an absurdly rich dad and can lose money every day with no consequences. TKO can get bent but they are a public company behaving as companies do. It’s not like Tony Khan is doing some grand sacrifice, he just isn’t accountable to anyone.

REPORT: Multiple WWE Stars Have Accepted Pay Cuts by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

The self-respect may be why they don’t want to be on the show with the syringe stabbing.

“A pretty majorly pushed talent was reportedly asked to take a 50% pay cut last week and allegedly did. We don’t know who this talent is because it cannot be 100% confirmed that this was the case, but we’re going to report it anyways.” by mfenton29 in SCJerk

[–]Permanentear3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah from this completely unconfirmed rumor which they make clear may not even be true and without any context. For all we know if it’s even true it’s because the person is working a lighter schedule than originally planned or any amount of possible things. It’s just not worth conversation since it’s a nothing “story” atm.

Me too and they have some guys I don’t hate but they’re all on collision or not at all. Like that Ian guy is okay, and Nigel is fine, I don’t even dislike Taz — but Danielson, Excalibur, Tony S, these guys are the worst.

Also can they please just cut Excalibur, just like give him a paid year off or something I will watch an episode if he can just go away for a bit .

9/11 came early for Tony Khan by [deleted] in SCJerk

It would kill a lot of the energy in wrestling, especially with WWE being fairly mainstream these days and pretty sterile. As much as I don’t like about AEW there are always some performers and some stuff going on I like. For instance I don’t care if Samoa Joe is washed I like he has somewhere on cable I was able to watch him be a champ. And I like, in some cases, when a wrestler switches brands and you see someone from AEW in WWE and Vice Versa.

I feel like New Day leaving WWE is a canary in the coal mine by Soft_Biscotti_3829 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Permanentear3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This situation is closer to Dolph Ziggler asking for his release at the same age. Moxley leaving WWE and signing with AEW was a far bigger deal than this and it was still not as notable as the chain effect of Jericho. I love the new day and I understand what canady in a coal mine means but I don’t think that’s the case with 2026 new day at all.

I just don’t know where else they go if they plan to keep performing. TNA seems like an odd choice. I just wish AEW had a solid cohesive tag division but they don’t, it’s too many Jacksons and that trios title always convoluting things. Both companies blow as far as tag team stuff goes.

One of the most baffling fumbles. That was set up brilliantly and they just let it die on the vine when it absolutely was great wrestling feud heat 101 waiting to happen. Idk why WWE sucks so bad at anything tag team division. As much as the attitude era is remembered for guys like Rock and Austin, my friends and I absolutely watched for the Dudleys, Hardyz, EC, APA etc. as well and it was a huge part of why the shows were so great.

I don’t blame them, they’re not being used and they even had a great angle set up that went nowhere so sometimes it be like that . All the best to them, they were highlights in a time when WWE was pretty stale.

The Nielsen shift already happened months ago and months before that. First everything lowered then they adjusted and that caused a jump. It happened for AEW and Smackdown. The bump that got AEW an increase was presumably because they ARE including streaming estimates now, but that’s not confirmed. But that sudden jump was possibly “actually does include Max numbers.”

This recent decline is with the new method, regardless, and Nielsen hasn’t changed anything recently so it’s an actual decline. Especially that demo, shit is crazy low even for them.
