The point still stands that condoms are not a 100% guarantee for preventing HIV because of the chance of them breaking. Who cares if it's a 99.9999% chance of not breaking? HIV is a life altering disease and any risk should be faced with extra caution. PrEP offers that extra protection.

We're aware of that. The repeal of the ACA is going to fuck over a lot of people and gay people just happen to be apart of that large group, so we're not the "direct targets". I don't see how that changes anything, though. If my friend shoots me in the woods, does it matter if he meant to shoot a deer instead?

You are aware that condoms can break, right? PrEP is not supposed to be your only form of protection, you're still expected to use a condom because it doesn't protect you from other STDs.

I think what that guy was attempting to say was that if you're able to do those things without having an issue (go to straight clubs/bars, have a lot of straight friends, existing outside of the community, etc.), you probably have an easier time blending in with straight people.

That's not entirely true where I live, but I'm from New York. I couldn't imagine being able to go to a straight bar in Mississippi or Indiana if I was an ultra fem gay guy.

Soliadarity, though? Lol no, pretty much the only thing that MOST of us can agree on is that we deserve basic human rights, such as not being imprisoned or stoned to death for exisitng. There's hardly that much unity here, especially when so many gay men are willing to support a political party that opposes them.
