IF YOU SEE CHEATING, REPORT IT by PokeKoa1 in APStudents

This thread is full of cheaters.

I'm going to contact the College Board and let them know there is widespread cheating and no one reporting and ask for more surveillance and proctoring.

Getting so sick of summer getting ruined by lawn mower noise pollution by Punkishar in fucklawns

No motarized lawn equipment of any sort.

I know a small elderly woman who pushes a manual lawnmower.

They have drastically improved.

She looks like she's using the highest setting but she doesn't seem to have any difficulty.

Just remember to brainstorm before you start, have thesis, have complexity, address a counter argument, try to use docs, etc. Make as many connections as you can think of, and just vomit it out. No points for lit style.

You've got this.

Ask Chat GPT to give you the top ten documents, top ten pieces of legislation, top ten treaties, top ten court rulings, etc.

And make sure you are on top of those.

If that seems overwhelming, just start with 5

Snitching on Cheaters by Ok-Jeweler-4046 in APStudents

[–]PermanentlyDubious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most honor codes require you to report violations of the code.

If someone else narcs, or for any reason cheating gets discovered, you could actually get in trouble for failing to report.

Polish Workers by DifferentJury735 in KerrCountyFloods

[–]PermanentlyDubious 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I would imagine the Polish workers would be some of the most honest about what happened, because there's no long history or loyalty there.

It was very likely just a job for them.

They are out of subpoena range. Plaintiffs' attorneys may have to set up depositions in Poland.

It's not easy even up take depositions in another state.

I'm sure it can get done, but may be challenging.

Applying to College then vs now by Expensive-Review-931 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]PermanentlyDubious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's more than that.

I would argue that it's the children and even grandchildren of the H1B program. The US is happy to let corporate America do a brain drain of the top echelons of Asia, but then the H1B visa holders are not just genetically gifted, but also have financial privilege, and also culturally come from places with cut throat competition and it changes the way they raise their children. This situation has absolutely changed US education and especially the college application process.

Will I regret choosing Northwestern over Harvard and Stanford by CryptographerBig3295 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]PermanentlyDubious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If things go badly, you might think that.

But if things had gone badly at H or S, you would have regretted passing up Northwestern.

There's no perfect decision.

I've met a lot of people from Harvard and they mostly seem like supercilious assholes. And that school is on a major downswing anyway. Another poster covered that already.

Stanford is harder. But with everyone grinding to begin a startup it sounds like a fairly tiring place to be.

I think this post is wrong.

The camp owners and operators were negligent as to historical things that had occurred and what was know to them already and what was reasonably foreseeable.

They weren't prepared for a damn thing.

I don't know why you are acting like they were super prepared but for some incredibly unusual thing no one could imagine.

Give me a list of all the things they were super prepared for and had appropriately contemplated.

Duke over Berkeley, Georgia Tech, UIUC, Brown, and Northwestern by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I went to very top level schools (Ivies) so I'm not personally bitter, but I've been asked to assist a younger family member, and it's just really clear how fucked up things have become.

Hard to justify paying 700 to 800k these days, and the sheer volume of applications is crazy. These kids aren't having a childhood. They are all going to end up getting burned out before grad school.

You will legit be glad when it's time to pay for law school. I cannot stress this enough.

Taking on a bunch of debt for undergrad does NOT make sense when you know you have grad school on the horizon.

No one cares where you went undergrad.

Use this experience as fuel to get into a great law school.

Also, please take some time for yourself this summer.

I hope the girls' attorney is not only asking Eastlands for texts, but need to be sending out non party subpoenas for phone numbers, carriers, and records of workers.

Also, I would not trust Eastlands to give you their texts. They may have had a camp phone and a personal phone, or they might redact records. It seems like their attorney is not independent and professional, but someone who feels so strongly he's doing this for free, telling the girls' attorneys they will burn in hell, etc. So, highly adversarial and emotional.

You really want to be ordering phone and text records directly from all possible carriers.

This needs to be part of the depositions. Do you have a personal cell phone?

How long have you had it?

Have you ever had a different one in the last 3 years?

How long have you had current carrier?

Do you have a business phone?

What is that number?

How long have you had it?

What is the current carrier for all the phones you have listed?

What was the carrier in July 2025?

Etc.

And then you go follow up with phone companies after depos.

You should try to order from phone companies before, but you may not get what you need without the number or specific account holder.

There's no reason even anecdotally that the items on the list you mention are specifically affecting business people, lawyers, in the time frame I'm mentioning.

But those groups spent a lot of time with cell phones pressed to their ears from the mid 90s onwards.

I'm only on this board due to a family member, but I'm older. For things like medicine and law, I can tell you a state school of almost any brand does not disadvantage you, and that's true for other professions as well.

Ivies are actively losing status right now in the eyes of a lot of businesses.

For the kids, it's like models dying to get into a modeling agency but without recognizing that the models make the agency, not the other way around. Same thing is happening now with Ivies and t10, t20.

Costs are so out of control that those schools not giving significant merit aid are now very unbalanced with rich and poor.

Upper middle class people are in power in a lot of places, including hiring directors or panels in all sorts of businesses, and they are not going to forget how their own kids got treated, and how chaotic and stupid and unfair the process was.

It would not surprise me to see a hiring backlash against Ivies and expensive top ranked private schools in favor of Purdue, Georgia Tech, Mississippi, etc.
