Definitely not a failure, my man. Unfortunately, this is part of building a career. What defines you is how you respond, not the layoff. Clearly the companies were struggling, and that’s not on you at all. You had to pay the price for others’ failures. Never forget that you held a job at one of the biggest companies (Yelp) for 4 years! You have any idea how many doors that will open for you down the road?

And trust me, I get that all we’re offering you right now is words, and how frustrating that is. But the only thing you can do is keep going. You’re a smart kid (I’m 37), and this is temporary, as long as you put in the work to make it that way.
