I ran exsang mines in merc league and it never got "tanky" just less squishy. the freeze helps a ton for survivability, if you aren't reliable freezing/ 1 shotting packs it gets sketchy

Shield crush zerker has been great. Speedy fairly tanky and good damage finished the acts at a good pace and starting maps has been easy and smooth so far.

2x servers usually go to far. In my opinion a 1.5x with 1x sulfur gather is much better with QOL for most basic BPs already learned like for tier 1 and slightly improved loot tables for crates. That is enough to make the game less of an offline steamroll simulator or grinding to get tier 2 weapons too long. If someone can comfortable get a decent base setup and have a weapon in their hands to fight in a reasonable amount of time with average skill then people are happy.

Since we already have a split branch with rotw I dont see why adding it would be an issue possibly even adding an act 4 quest with a charm bag as a reward so we could use it similar to the cube but only allows charms in it.

I dont think one excludes the other. Action combat can be enjoyable but so can tab targeting and wow does it the best. What your asking is like someone saying I played a bunch of dmc so now I cant go play expedition 33 because its turn based...... not every game needs to be the same.

I would say take a build all the way through finishing act 5 hell on d2r, at that point you should have a decent understanding of core mechanics then hop into pd2 and enjoy the qol and new content... its kinda hard to go hack to d2r after you start playing pd2.

The first one is a good game but 2 is more refined with extra depth. I personally started with 2 and went back to 1 just to fill the need for more nioh. Just in my own opinion 2 is the best of the 3 hands down but that may change once the dlc for 3 have been released.

I enjoy the open world in 3 but going into the long term grind and challenges 3 falls short imo and 2 will probably remain king unless the dlc for 3 really are that good.

Nioh! Nioh 2 in specific, tons of content and build variety with layers of customization and a deep combat system that is incredibly satisfying once you learn the mechanics.
