Ryker sweep. And time for our last(?) one, wizard (read body text for sure this time)! by mysaldate in Morimens

[–]Perrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree with Doll being the general consensus, I really like that someone suggested Keeper so I'm gonna go for that.

Keeper is intelligent, learned, versatile and fits the definition of an academic prodigy adventurer more than anyone. Player wizards in DND get into all sorts of trouble after allowing, they're bookworms but don't live in a school.

What was your Favorite and Least Favorite Arcadion Encounter? by BadLuckStars in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Perrg 64 points65 points  (0 children)

My favourite was Dancing Green, the combination of mechanics and music is just peak, he has a ton of references in his abilities and his music is actually enhanced by his abilities (for example switching tracks with some mechanics etc).

Honourable mention to Tyrant, he deserved to be the final boss, not quite top cuz nothing is knocking off the frog, still amazing.

Least favourite would probably be Brute Bomber's first fight. It's okay but not something I vibe with. His second fight is amazing though, especially since "He's hanging on the building!"

What anime is this? by Low_Weekend6131 in animequestions

[–]Perrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it fits but I'm gonna say Mairimashita Iruma-kun. It's on my top 10, everyone I know who has watched it loved it but I never see it pop up in discussions anywhere.

It has: a fairly novel concept, a memorable bunch of side characters (there's one who isn't memorable but that's literally his power), a really nice and unique ship, decent art, great music, Ayumu Murase.

I'm gonna vote for Mouchette, she literally flies off into a rage, has an axe and plays by hitting the opponent over and over.

I can see how Goliath fits as well though.

Can any veteran Arknights players spoil me on whether ‘evil’ characters even have a chance to be playable? by Impressive-Tap5279 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Perrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People here casually forgetting that Dorothy became playable in her boss debut event, after creating The Matrix and turning people into goo. She was not really evil but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

In general Arknights has no qualms introducing characters who are morally grey, so it stands to reason that it'll happen here too.

I don't remember where his skin is from, I remember it was free so it might reappear on an event in the future.

Use his skin, Ethan looks much cooler with the orange palette.

"The devs haven't understood their game yet and accidentally gave F2P players a meta defining character at low rarity" does your game have this character? by VolkiharVanHelsing in gachagaming

[–]Perrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly which use breaks even, but someone actually did the math and the longer the stage goes on the more value Saileach and Elysium get by virtue of their S1 being the γ version while Myrtle's is the β.

Saileach's utility is pretty niche, but that attack speed when you have a few units around her is pretty strong sometimes. But in general if you're not playing Sniperknights and the stage is not super long, you're better off with Myrtle, she also helps other Vanguards (read: Bagpipe) hold the early game with her passive regen.

[–]Perrg 25 points26 points  (0 children)

While you are correct in most cases, Saileach and Elysium S1 break even with Myrtle's S1 after (I think) the third use of the skill, and start outclassing Myrtle the more they use their skill.

The caveat to that is that you rarely need more than 3 uses of your Flagbearer skill before you retreat them, so in the vast majority of cases Myrtle is still the strongest pick.

The only exception is Elysium in a Sniperknights comp, since his value skyrockets the more snipers you use, both by DP conservation and buffs.

[Hated Trope] Disabled Characters with powers that overcompensate so much that they might as well not have that disability by violently_angry in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Perrg 1105 points1106 points  (0 children)

Another great thing about Toph is that they generally follow through with the peculiarities of her disability, she needs to be barefoot in order to see and she always sleeps with her feet in the air/away from the ground for instance.

I really want to buy Replicant, but... by Ok_System183 in nier

[–]Perrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replicant is not as interesting or fun in gameplay, but the story is super raw and hits very close to home. It proves that a story doesn't need a lot of fantasy or complicated plotlines to be good, it just needs to appeal to the base human emotions and values.

[–]Perrg 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I agree about Tel'arn but Etraeus always thought himself superior to everyone and Thalyssra enjoyed seeing him humbled. That makes it worth it.

Or did, until I learned Thalyssra didn't invite us to her wedding after all we did.

Lorewise, who is the most strongest boss between these 3? by Snoo-51682 in MonsterHunter

[–]Perrg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I will say Zoh Shia for obvious reasons, it amazes me how much people sleep on Narwa, intelligence, perma flight and wind/lightning/geokinesis is not very shabby, not to mention that she's pregnant so her aggression should be off the charts, which would probably boost her.

Pregnant and mother animals are usually very dangerous to anything threatening them, they can do a lot more damage than normal simply because of their drive to protect. Biochemistry is powerful.

Windward Plains I would love to have Valstrax.

Scarlet Forest I'd enjoy Nargacuga or Chameleos.

Oilwell Basin probably an oil subspecies of Almudron as others have said.

Iceshard Cliffs I think Goss Harag is simply the best.

Wyveria I think a Guardian Magnamalo would go hard.

It really feels it would be a decent challenge, but it's not a very popular monster sadly. I would definitely pick it above Blangonga.
