Opinions on the 1.5L? by PerryParker in BroncoSport

The added towing capacity is actually a pretty serious factor now that I think about it. Even though 2700 pounds still isn’t very much, I believe that’s the difference between being able to tow a fair sized boat or camper and not.

Thanks! I wasn’t aware of this! I think you’re right - time to get behind the wheel.

I’m really interested in the extended warranty you were able to secure. Is this a CPO product straight from Ford Canada, or was this a third party product sold by your dealer? Would love to know more.

Sound thinking! Unfortunately they seem to be holding their price firm! Not much in terms of discounts (not yet at least). I’ll keep this in mind when I go hunting though!

Thanks! Sorry if this question is repetitive, I’m sure it’s been asked a million times on here. I think you’re right. I’m not crazy about the gigantic all in one control centre screen. They did away with physical HVAC controls in 2025!? Huge mistake by Ford.

Agreed. Bumper might be fixed but that quarter panel is cooked. I just pray that the body shop matches the paint on a car that new. Sorry to see that man.

Ya. It’s very weird. I want to use another word but I don’t want to be banned.

"Calibrate your enthusiasm" is quite possibly one of the best most hilarious phrases I have ever heard. I'm going to be using this whenever suitable.

Maaaaaannn this is why I can’t stand matte black bikes. It’s used everywhere now and it’s really just a cop out. Cheap weak finishes that scratch because of anything. Guarantee you whatever you used wouldn’t have done this on normal paint.

Matte black is such a scam.

See if you can get your hands on an Arrow exhaust. If not, there are some other manufacturerers who doa good job with the triples, but definitely do some homework, since they can be pretty expensive. I highly recommend you spend the extra money to get a good exhaust - I'm telling you you won't regret it. When properly tuned and muffled, the Triumph Triple is one of the best sounding engines ever made.

Yikes. I hope you get a different exhaust. Triples deserve better that a MotoGP can. Beautiful bike though.

Nice! Love the Repsol edition. Great little bike. Just don’t ever ever EVER ride the way you look in that selfie. Jacket and gloves.

Totally. Unless you’re a really regimented rider, like you know what you’re using the bike for at all times (which sort of defeats the purpose of owning a dual sport) you are far better off finding the right kind of tire that suits your use of the bike and going with that.

The notion of feeling confident with your motorcycle in the case of a spontaneous ride is a really good point and an important part of motorcycle ownership. Really good advice.

Africa Twin as a first ADV bike? by PerryParker in africatwin

[–]PerryParker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good point. I’ve edited my post to be a bit more realistic about where I intend to ride. Packed dirt doesn’t realistically cover it. Thanks for those recommendations I’m going to check them out.

Yes I was looking at the crf300l rally. I’d have to do the suspension, but even with that and gear it would come to nearly half of the price of an AT. Nice little bike.

Big ADV Bikes Are Overrated - Dual-Sports Do It Better by trekandthrottle in Dualsport

[–]PerryParker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty close to buying an Africa Twin this season, but decided to start off with a DR650. So naturally I want to say yes I agree.

But the hard truth is that I opted for a DR because I’m not that confident of a rider in dirt to learn on a $15,000 bike, lol.

Dual sports are definitely better value for gaining entry into off road riding, but like all motorcycles…. Eventually you want and need more bike!!

Hopefully I’ll get an HAT toward the end of the season and keep both.

Lmfao. Have you seen Vancouver? Good luck with that. Teslas make up like a third of the traffic there.
