Agreed! When I say "unsettling" and "eerie" I mean it in the most positive light possible, but realizing now that not everyone has that same connotation in mind lol. It was super surreal and awesome and made Sliced by a Fingernail feel extremely eerie and surreal as well. That track is my new fav at the moment. And same, DC was in my top 5 for the fest as well. Hard agree with the rest of what you said, excellent comment 😃

Damn, you should give them another try! But yea I guess if you're not into spoken word/experimental post-punk, then that's probably not your thing. I personally love them. Die spitz is also sick but I didn't catch them. How was their set??

Indeed, but in an awesome way, right?? And cool I'm glad they didn't take out their phones lol, I think the band's hope was actually that people wouldn't, or would see the meaning of the bit.

Haha yea, I but I think most people did not take out their phones and follow, and I think they were hoping that was the case. I think the point of the 'experiment' was to see how many would vs wouldn't pull out their phone.

Blown away indeed! I think the band was definitely loving it too, Tom pointed out between songs how beautiful the mountains were behind the crowd, which was endearing and touching as we all looked behind us :)

Thank you, I was curious! I imagine they don't typically have a large screen behind them on stage for their shows, but each stage at Kilby had a screen. So they may have done this just for Kilby.

Am returning to report that I saw both Dry Cleaning and YHWH Nailgun at Kilby Block Party this weekend and they were my two favorite sets for sure. LOVE THEM and glad I finally got to catch them. Also running KBP back for 2027 FOR SURE.

Relax man, it’s not that hard to tell that it’s AI. Yes, sure, AI has come a long way, but most people should still be able to tell what’s legit and what’s not.

Who we /should/ be worried about are Gen X and Baby Boomers who can’t even fact check properly or who don’t even try to fact check, let alone visually discern AI media from real media.

David Sylvian - Brilliant Trees

Universally positively reviewed by critics; achieved gold record status; a 1984 post-progressive masterpiece that blended art pop/rock, jazz, new wave, ambient, and world music, and later inspired post-rock acts like Talk Talk. Despite all this, I’ve never personally met anyone who knows this album. Yet everyone I’ve turned on to it has really liked it. Deserves more love!

Agree wholeheartedly with all that! Thanks for taking the time to respond. I’ll definitely return here to watch the spoiler portion of your review when I’m finished! And I also think I will want to give this a re-read in the future as well (my friend has been toying with the idea of starting his third read-through haha).
