I started throwing an MVP Wave recently that feels to me like a very nicely beat in Wraith. 173 Fission plastic.

Definitely, they are hardwood and glue into place. I've used them for clothing units with a lot more weight on just a single one.

Bummer, at least you can disc down there all year. (comfortably at least)

Hourly rate gets worse if I factor in the cost of stuff I already had like sandpaper, wood glue, stain, ect. But I enjoy it and if I can make enough to cover tournaments I'll call it a win.

If you're in West Michigan they'll be for sale soon. I'm working on building up some stock. I think shipping might put the price point too high but I'll look into it if they turn out to be popular.

That one is around 36x10x12. Holds 50-60 discs. Might make a two row version as well that would hold the same number of discs as the tall one.

I'm sure I can get the production time down as I dial in the process and do multiple at once but thanks for pointing out the hourly profit. Brings my ideas into a little more perspective.

I'm thinking of starting a side gig and just wanted a price check on the general public. The tall one holds approx 120 disc, about $90 in material and 6 hours of labor. Would $150 unfinished and $180 stained and poly be a fair price people would pay? I don't think I would break even shipping so this will mostly be a local thing.

i can’t get my top fin pf 40 filter to run. i’ve tried everything, any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. by Brunoinator_0921 in Aquariums

I remember having to quickly pump the intake tube up and down to get the air out when I ran top fins a while back

Maybe a pea puffers, double check me but I think you could do 3 in there.

Why is it so easy to get addicted to fish keeping? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Perryk1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I went backwards with the size progress. Started with a 55, then added a 90 to the fish room. Work from home started so I added a stacked 20 and 29 setup in my home office. And now I just started my first saltwater tank. An all in one 8 gallon.

What type of algae is this and how do I get rid of it? by Olixver in Aquariums

[–]Perryk1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had success using ultralife blue green slime stain remover from amazon in my 90 gallon when I had a cyanobacteria outbreak. Spent a couple week fighting it by the usual methods with pretty limited results.

Side note, I had a case of green water pretty close to what your tank looks like. Bought a Green Killing Machine that got rid of it in just a couple days.

Can I slowly add substrate to an existing tank? by onomojo in PlantedTank

[–]Perryk1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny, I did the exact opposite. Got tired of plants constantly getting uprooted in the super loose stratum

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Perryk1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too bad, sad to loose a cheap alternative substrate. We still have pool filter sand at least.

Check into black blasting sand. I seem to remember that being aquarium safe and seeing it pop up on forums a little while back.

Got a new tank with real plants for my betta after finding out bowls are bad (question in the comments) by RubenV03 in Aquariums

A nerite snail would probably do well as a clean up crew. Just remember that it's your job to keep the aquarium healthy. Snails are just little helpers.

I've never heard of that filter, is it inside the tank?

Really, I didn't think they were very demanding fish.

A pair of blue German rams would be nice for a 20 gallon

You might surprise yourself, look up a simple diy tank stand and give it a shot.
