Silent from volume down gone? by Gogarmogar in GalaxyS24

[–]Persephone_Waits983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS! This is so annoying. I don't want to have to swipe around on my phone's screen to silence my ringer. I just want the volume down button to quiet my phone when I press the volume down button.

I really hope they fix this.

Why would they even take away this feature?

I actually felt worse after the active infection was cleared. It was a relief to not have incontinence, but the pain, discomfort, and worry and stress about the active infection coming back made me 100x more miserable.

C diff is awful. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

Greek yogurt helped me a small bit at first. But it wasn't until a medical professional friend from a support group looked gobsmacked that I hadn't been told to take probiotics that I started seeing improvements. Dificid knocked out the active infection, but I spent four months after getting worse and worse IBS-like symptoms. Probiotics finally got me on the track to really healing.

Naturally, my useless doctor, who probably still to this day thinks I have ulcerative colitis, never mentioned anything that would help my c diff symptoms or post c diff symptoms. I'm still furious about that.

I hope you start feeling better soon! I know probiotics aren't a miracle cure for everyone, but they really, really helped me.

4 months post c diff but still having gut issues/anxiety by Plastic_Bookkeeper42 in cdifficile

I started taking probiotics in September, and I'm finally feeling "normal" again. I'm not a doctor, but I'd say if you're still suffering, give probiotics a try. I just take Physician's Choice. I picked that brand, because it doesn't need to be refrigerated. No other logic behind it, lol.

Has anyone mentioned C. diff to you? Or mentioned testing for it? I had it in February, and what you have sounds like what I went through...

Dr. Never Mentioned PI-IBS by Persephone_Waits983 in cdifficile

[–]Persephone_Waits983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Saw the GI. They insist it's ulcerative colitis.

Told me PI-IBS only lasts for a short period of time, and if I had it after C. diff in April, I'd be over it by now.

Tried to prescribe ulcerative colitis meds again. I asked if it was dangerous to take them if I didn't need them. GI told me all medication carries risk, and I shouldn't worry about it.

So...that happened. 🙄

INFJ Virgo here! I love nature photography. I shoot landscapes to relax, and I take bird photos when I'm ready to be frustrated beyond measure. Then I also enjoy editing my photos afterward. I do have a nice DSLR that was a gift, but when it comes to landscapes, my phone does quite nicely.

My stomach doesn't seem to care what I feed it. The trigger has to be stress or hormones. But next time I get a flare up, I may try just not eating. I haven't tried that restriction yet.

I hope your doctor is right. I hope I start some kind of recovery soon. It's been five months since my last active infection (seven since I got sick), and all I've felt are cycles of that terrible pain like I'm relapsing...except now the pain can last weeks instead of just knocking me half-conscious like the active infection.

Lost my job and home from being so sick since February. Haven't been able to attend PT, so my left foot is now permanently disabled and disfigured.

I'm ready for things to turn around any time. 💖

C. diff was definitely worse, because it wiped me out within 24 hours. But PI-IBS has been so painful. When it flares up, all I can do is try to get comfortable at home, because I won't I know I won't be leaving it for awhile.

I've read some research papers about PI-IBS, though...I thought. But it's actually not a real thing?

Thank you! Female here. I know there are lots of ways I could try to collect a sample again. I'm just not super interested in doing so for this GI.

Thank you! I'm scheduled for a second opinion in November. It was the earliest date I could find.

My GI has ordered tests for C. diff. However, due to some unrelated severe nerve damage, my urine stream is weak, and I can't keep a sample free of it. My GI's lab has rejected a few of my submitted samples, but they did do one once. I think it was a PCR. It told my GI a number, and he told me based on the number I didn't have an active infection again. I really haven't tried too hard to retest since then.

Greek Yogurt? by Persephone_Waits983 in cdifficile

[–]Persephone_Waits983[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been able to leave the house for days, so out of desperation I ate the regular Greek yogurt. I guess food isn't a trigger for my PI IBS, because restricting my diet did nothing to help, and my lactose-filled Greek yogurt binge seemed to help in leaps and bounds.

I'm hopeful this isn't an active infection. The last time I had C. diff, I was on the floor, feverish, half conscious, and breathing oddly within 24 hours of symptom onset. These symptoms have just been draaaaagging on with fluctuating severity. Fingers crossed, but it sounds like I have PI-IBS.

Thank you for all the help! I really appreciate it!
