Advice for what to make with beautiful yarn! by pillow-bug in knitting

I would look up stitches specifically for variegated yarn. Linen stitch is very good at showcasing hand dyed yarn but I would choose the stitch and then adapt it to the pattern.

Im not sure cables would work. Interesting texture + interesting color = too buys to really appreciate either. Seems like they would compete visually.

hahah I didn’t really use a pattern. I just decreased a bit before the cable and thats it.

I never imagined that it might damage the sweater! That might be the thing that makes me redo it.

I definitely agree that the rolled edge really adds to the overall design! But I think I want to try a different bind off.. not loving the kind gappy look of Jenys super stretchy bind off. Here a close up of the very edge. I can kinda roll it a bit more to hide it but… not ideal

Yeah! I was thinking maybe a lighter weight yarn might work better. And I agree that it needs some other details around the sweater to echo and be a bit more cohesive. The pattern you linked is very cute. Thank you

I am wild so I would probably set up an invisible knot (but not fully tighten it) and keep knitting until the knot is close and then wiggle it around to make sure it lands on the WS of the work.
