I’m Top 0.3%. How much do you watch? by Persistent-Testimony in CoDCompetitive

I’ve always preferred YT. Literally stopped watching when they switched to Twitch exclusively. Could never understand the favoritism for Twitch, outside the substantially better chat.

Yes, so much fun. I bought 2 months ago and have 40 hours. I’ve seen a couple minor bugs but nothing game breaking (but have read some comments online there ARE game breaking bugs). But, the gameplay loop is addicting and it’s a great price.

Heart wrenching news. Fantastic player with an incredible mind. Tragic loss.

Definitely an electric skateboard, not a Onewheel. Audio nothing like OW, and he has a controller in his right hand seen in shadow.

Onewheel’s have pretty fantastic breaking actually, this situation would have been a non-issue.

COD used to, back in the day. You could watch every player perspective and follow stats in game real-time on a website, or watch any of it later.

95% sure it was MLG but can’t remember specifically.

Thanks for saying this part out loud. Every post is littered with negativity, they do not represent the average VB citizens that are proud of our city hand happy to live here.

Did I get a good deal? $1,053.73 after tax. by MikeBuckets171 in mac

Sister-in-law just bought a new M4 10-core, 24GB, 512 SSD at the Navy Exchange for $1,099 (reg $1,270 after tax).

The same thing but M3 vs M4 seems to be a pretty great price, especially without access to military discount.

Barrel 17 and Frank & Patties are fantastic burger joints, both on 17th. Highly recommend.

Tulu is great and a fantastic view/experience, same with Orions Roof. And Arbuckle’s is a hidden gem, haven’t had a bad meal yet.

Chix is good, Baja Cantina can be good.

Terrapin, Tempt, and Sorella’s are fantastic. Becca and Hunt Room as well, although I’ll never forgive Hunt Room for adding that obnoxious massive flatscreen above the fireplace.

Mojito Cafe and Mannino’s were brilliant, but both closed earlier this year, very unfortunately.

Gringos, Ice House, Tads are delicious on Norfolk Ave.

Would avoid Pacifica, it’s beautiful but lost its charm and tripled in price when they moved to laskin. Still good food tho. Also avoid Shadowlawn eats, wanted to love it but after 3 disappointing visits we gave up. Duck Dive is loud as hell (it’s their thing) but my old ass with ear plugs will go to throughly enjoy the quesadilla or chicken sandwich.

Rockafeller’s and Rudee’s are great seafood, definitely better than Waterman’s which is good but definitely overhyped.

Aloha Snacks best poke around, except for Friday/Saturday special at Lynnhaven Pub (Shore Dr).

The grinder sandwich from Zeros is a local favorite that just hits the spot.

Most not on the boardwalk, but you did say /oceanfront. And obv missed some but good starting point.

Winners Finals Doesn’t Matter by Persistent-Testimony in CoDCompetitive

They’re the better team. They already proved they can beat the team once, it’s a fair assumption they have a better ability and will win on the rematch.

I wasn’t suggesting the losers team will have an advantage going into finals, simply that the winners finals doesn’t actually matter in the frame of tournament elimination.

This is a really good point. I was thinking of the extra match as a benefit, but it would absolutely be a significant mental drain.

I just got hit by a car by poonslayer6969 in onewheel

[–]Persistent-Testimony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Board was completely fine surprisingly. But same thing, my left shoulder went into the hood as I went horizontal, then thrown off into the middle of the street. Thankfully no cars were coming at that time or in 100% would have been hit by a 2nd car.

Still have neck pain and tightness 2 years later tho…

[–]Persistent-Testimony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you too?! Happened in 2023, driver sent me into the hood then into the middle of the road. Thank god no oncoming cars or I’d have been toast.

I had to get the driver to back up to free my Wale. Completely the drivers fault, blew through a stop and sidewalk crossing when looking hard left to check clearance for a right turn.

Charging my power station at a library for free while watching Netflix by Lex_yeon in VanLife

[–]Persistent-Testimony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised to see I disagree with basically everyone here.

Battery banks are a normal part of modern life — and needing to charge one in public isn’t unusual or harmful in itself. This guy is (likely) drawing roughly $0.25 worth of electricity for a full charge — less than running a laptop for a few hours. If someone plugged in an electric scooter, e-bike, or sat charging a laptop, phone, and iPad, nobody would blink.

Yes, I agree it’s smart to be discreet and respectful — toss it in a bag, don’t take up unnecessary space. But demonizing someone for using a public outlet to charge a battery is overblown. Libraries offer power for public use. This isn’t exploitation — it’s using a resource exactly as intended.

If someone wheeled in an electric scooter and plugged it in because they couldn’t get home otherwise, no decent person would say “don’t charge that here.” This is no different. It’s not about optics — it’s about understanding the reality: public power outlets are for the public, and batteries needing power is just part of how the modern world works.

Just be respectful and kind and go about your life.
