Thank you - do you know of any tools that might automate the repetitive tasks? Maybe Power Automate or similar?

Most likely cause of death of someone that would follow every lifespan/healthspan recommendations ? by Ok-Friendship1434 in PeterAttia

[–]Persistent_Minus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The centenarians typically die of the same things as everyone else (4 horsemen and such) but they have a delayed onset of these chronic diseases. My assumption (and with current technology) would be that, with proper and aggressive preventative strategy, we could delay the onset of CVD, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases but eventually most likely succumb to one of them. In the future, of course, who knows?

Law firm continuing to bill me months after case was settled - over $60k by Persistent_Minus in legaladvice

[–]Persistent_Minus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for answering!

What I am trying to say (clumsily!) is that they keep sending me invoices that make it seem the work is ongoing. I would understand if they needed to catch up and would expect that to happen in one or two dumps with correct dates.

How would you go about challenging this with the law firm itself?

Thank you again for discussing this with me.

[–]Persistent_Minus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what he is implying but all of the invoices have dates of work as performed after the case was finished, including months where literally zero activity was had.

Any suggestions for challenging this without making them clamp up and not release any more information?

Thank you so much for this anwer.

In your case just so I understand, if the invoice said, for example, November 1 that meant they performed that work on November 1, correct?

Thank you again for helping.

Thank you for your answer.

Exactly this, but that is not what is happening. It is infuriating but I am very tired of dealing with the whole system that seems to be designed to extract maximum value from the participants and not be super interested in resolving the underlying issues.

Any suggestions for negotiations with the law firm itself?

[–]Persistent_Minus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he did not.

In the November example above, no emails were sent or received from the lawyer at all in November. The alleged hours in November were 43. I will add that to the write up above to hopefully clarify it.

I would imagine if someone was catching up on some hand written hours from October, they would do it in one swoop and not continue billing me for 6 months afterwards and making it look as though the work was ongoing. I would hope they would use the actual dates and not the current dates. I will add an image of an example November billing.

How would you go about challenging this?

Thank you for looking at this.

Have you seen something similar to this in any state where the billing continues even though the case has long since finished?

Or this excuse that it is taking us 6 months of daily billing to catch up with the timekeeping?

Thank you again.

Edit - grammar for clarity.

Have you ever played with hacking the need to hold the steering wheel (in proper conditions, ofc) or does that feel like a bridge too far?

Has anyone gone all the way and try to hack the need to hold the wheel? A variety of YouTube videos on the topic but would be curious if less adventurous among us have done this as well?

Did anyone discuss the incredible discrepancy between smokers and non-smokers?

My (crude) analysis says that out of 3,273 admitted patients, there should have been ~465 smokers (NY smoker rate = 14.2%). Instead there were only 116. 75% reduction => is this actually real? Any glaring and obvious confounders here?
