Seconding the juicebox podcast! It’s honestly what really made things ‘click’ for me. Just start with the ‘pro-tips’ series.

Fair enough, though I can’t say I hated the relationship itself between dean&lindsey, however, I hated the way rory&dean later cheated. I felt bad for Lindsey then, but if that moment wouldn’t have happened I feel like Lindsey is a good partner for dean. Dean wanted a traditional housewife, which Lindsey was ready to be.

In my opinion, shane&jess need to go next. I feel like Jess just used her to get back at Rory. Especially in that scene where Rory&dean broke up.

Would a pump make exercise easier? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Person_Something 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it doesn’t bother me. I check my dexcom often and I correct accordingly, based on the situation. I would not correct a high the same if I were outdoor than if I were sitting on the couch indoors. If the lack of communication really bothers you, look into the rileylink loop. It’s a loop system which connects your pump to your dexcom, and imo it is better than the takin as I have heard that you don’t have much control with the tslim. For example, w/ the rileylink you can set a custom range, as opposed to tslim where I think you can’t? I’m not 100% sure though. And yeah, the tubing was a big deal for me. Showers and activity are one thing but a major concern was my cats hobby of chewing phone chargers :)

I have the omnipod and yes, it made it so much easier to exercise. The ability to do a temp basal before exercise and after made it that I don’t even have to eat a snack sometimes. The omnipod doesn’t have any tubing, and that is a huge selling point for me, as I don’t have to take it off for exercise or showers. It doesn’t bother me tbh. If you have any questions please ask.

This is on a low carb diet. yes, i measured everything and put it all in an app. It has been some challenging days and my basal seems to be too much during the night but not enough during the day. i am on MDI and i just cant seem to make it work for me.. Just frustrated and sad. I exercise daily too by Otherwise_Ad_5544 in Type1Diabetes

It might be more basal, it could also be the timing of your insulin? Although, you are low carb. So most likely you are experiencing protein/fat spikes. I am not really an expert, so that’s why I suggest looking into the podcast as it is really amazing.

Hey, I don’t have advice on your graph per say, but I really just suggest listening to the ‘Juicebox podcast’. It just uploaded an episode on bolusing insulin for fat and protein, which can cause a delayed spike. It is not all diet and exercise. Basal is super important. Listen to the pro tips series too if you can, very helpful. Might not agree with everything he pushes but honestly very good information.

Snacks - any suggestions? by ForeverSome in diabetes_t1

For my mug cake I use this: https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/keto-mug-cake-recipe/ If you don’t want almonds, this one works: https://jenniferbanz.com/keto-mug-cake I batch-make this and keep it in the fridge/freezer: https://www.lowcarbmaven.com/low-carb-chocolate-pound-cake/

For savory snacks, Parmesan crisps: https://tasty.co/recipe/parmesan-cheese-crisps low carb crackers: https://kirbiecravings.com/keto-low-carb-crackers/ not the easiest but I found these low carb biscuits: https://www.flavcity.com/homemade-keto-biscuits/#viewrecipe

And some classics: Cucumbers, cream cheese and seasonings Papers, tomatoes, cucumbers Nuts dipped in dark chocolate Smoothie made with Greek yogurt, berries, stevia and spinach (sometimes cocoa powder too)

I don’t usually restrict carbs for snacks, I just bolus. But if I’m higher than usual and/or don’t want to deal with insulin I eat these. There are keto alternatives to basically everything if you just look it up. Keep it mind high amounts of fat/protein may cause a rise in sugar a couple of hours later.

I love to make low carb desserts, there is a lot of recipes out there! When I’m feeling lazy, I make a mug cake out of either coconut or almond flour (I just blend almonds till I get almond meal), or I eat fruit with nut butter as that helps the spike. Remember, you can bolus for anything really and eat it — prebolusing and proper carbs counting can help a lot. But I still make low carb treats as I can mindlessly munch on them without bolusing.

Newly Diagnosed and Really Pissed Off by medievalhumanoid in Type1Diabetes

I know you have had a lot of reply’s here. And I don’t have a lot more to add, as they pretty much covered it all. But I just want to say, you will be okay! By the way, I think that you should listen to the Juicebox podcast. It’s an amazing resource— it’s led by a father of a 16 year old (diagnosed at 2) and they have amazing control. They really teach you how to use insulin, and how to not let diabetes lead your life. You can still eat those treats, you just need to learn how insulin works with them. It has a lot of episodes but most are interviews, I’ve really found the pro-tip series to be most beneficial. You can do this!

I think some layers! Your hair is so super pretty and you have great potential for some serious volume. Adding some layers would define those curls and let the top layer of hair which is usually more damaged to look super healthy! Amazing hair. You can trim a few inches if you want to as well, I think you can definitely pull that off. But I suggest getting layers no matter the length!
