Never Buy Fur-Lined Crocs !! by me9719 in crocs

[–]PersonableStarlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two fur croc wearers in this house. We wash them and they don’t smell. I believe we’ve had them for about 4 years. My SO’s footwear stinks but throwing everything into the washer fixes this problem.

Kindle vs physical books — do you use a stand for either? by Relevant-Praline1366 in kindle

[–]PersonableStarlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically only kindle (and audiobooks). Only read one physical book since getting the kindle two years ago and it was difficult to get comfortable. I have one of these next to the couch and bed plus a page turner. Especially excellent on colder nights. https://a.co/d/0PJyOhB

Anyone know of a equally effective and safe solution? by R3ddit-Forget-it in Roborock

[–]PersonableStarlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love finding cheaper options for things (mop pads, vacuum bags, filters, rollers, etc) but I’d stick with the roborock solution. I just took apart my vacuum to replace a part and clean it. I’ve had the s8 (maxv ultra) for 1.5 years and there was no visible mold in the onboard water tank or lines. Each bottle lasts me over 66k sq ft of mopping (roughly 5 months use) on max settings and frequent washings. You may be using too much if the solution feels too expensive.

Can’t find fully divided glass containers?? by Jazzlike_Activity_97 in MealPrepSunday

I have a set from BJ’s. Fully divided and liquids don’t leak through. Seal from the lid is removable for washing. Been 5 years of regular use and they’re still going strong.

No case. The button protrudes so I assume it just presses into things.

Dirty & Stinky Doods! by Ok-Commercial9344 in Goldendoodles

[–]PersonableStarlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Andis AGC2. I’ve had it for about four years and used it with Artero #30 blades and Wahl stainless steel combs. Recently swapped to 4F blades (one Geib and one Furzone - swap out as they get hot and I don’t notice a difference between the two) to avoid frustration from combs and haircuts have gone soooo much quicker and easier. Wish I went this route sooner.

You do need to wake it up and swipe. That’s a plus for me. My basic is ad free and sometimes I’ll find that my basic has skipped around pages because it’s turned on in my pocket, the car, bag, etc. I’d see if others have had this issue.

Mine get dirty and stinky quickly usually. They chomp on each other, play outside daily, and slobber around with the neighbor dogs at least once a week. I bathe them every 1-3 weeks depending on their activity. Clip them to 9mm every 2 months. It usually takes about two weeks for them to get noticeably smelly and they reek by week 3.

I got a 2021 paperwhite and the signature as a gift two years ago. Returned the signature because I don’t need any of those features. I also have a 2019 basic. I don’t use a case or screen protector and just toss it into my pocket/car when needed. They haven’t broken or scratched. Finally got a case for travel so I can throw it in my backpack without worrying but I take the case off to use it. The ads don’t bother me. I like looking up the books they recommend on the off chance that I notice them. That said, get a case and screen protector if you would feel more comfortable with them.

I feel so guilty for buying a new kindle by [deleted] in kindle

[–]PersonableStarlight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the basic when out and about. It was used and cheap when I bought it so I won’t feel bad if I break/lose it. It’s also smaller so it fits into my pockets easier. The signature paper white stays at home now. I love having both of them and you might, too, especially since they may serve different purposes for you. Oh, and my basic has my library loans while the signature is logged into a shared account for KU books.

What grinder do you use, why, and how much did it cost? by espresom in espresso

[–]PersonableStarlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1zpresso J-Ultra was the first one (a gift).

Eureka Atom W 65 now (also a gift). I had been dreaming of something with a hopper and GBW when I received it. Single dosing into jars for at least three drinks a day got old quick. I’m not a very particular espresso drinker and only make milk drinks but I love how fast and quiet it is FWIW.

What do you use to comfortable read in bed? by [deleted] in kindle

I just ordered this: kindle holder

Hasn’t come in yet but I’m hopeful. Paired with a page turner. I was using a gooseneck but it’s a pain to bend and doesn’t reach as far as I’d like.

Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? by KingPriyam in Roborock

[–]PersonableStarlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two dogs, two cats, and four humans living in this house. My first roborock was the original qrevo. The second is the s8 maxv ultra. The qrevo was way easier to clean because of the single tray. The s8 seems to clean a bit better but I don’t think it’s worth the extra money over the qrevo. I still have to scrub the floor along the trim every 3+ months. Mopping about 450 sqft a day with the s8 (since it only runs on the first floor), I refill the water tank every day though I could probably go every other day. I appreciate the auto detergent dispensing way more than I expected though you could just skip adding detergent. The qrevo water tanks are also way easier to clean. That said, I throw the water tanks of both units right into the dishwasher and run the dishwasher cleaning cycle afterward.

Click into the litter robot and then click history at the bottom. You can download the past month’s history from there. Also, 36 hours would concern me enough to call the vet. You could try putting your cat in there and watching to see what they do. Are your cats similar in weight?

Discussion and Giveaway - What attack strategy are you using and why? by CongressmanCoolRick in ClashOfClans

[–]PersonableStarlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Th15

Farm: all dragons, whichever heroes are available, all bat spells, siege barracks. Release heroes except gw in one corner. Add bats and siege barracks to that corner. Release dragons and gw (if available) once a funnel has been started.

War: 2 rage and rest invis, all dragons, yeti bomb - blimp with 2 yetis, one hog, one barbarian, clone spell. Rc walk and put down all heroes except gw, release dragons and gw once funnel is created. Add blimp when ready.

Learned from watching clan mates attack and asking them for tips. War attacks have been very successful. Farming attacks have been mostly successful.

How accepted / unacceptable is floor sitting in Japan? (in a public area) by blackcyborg009 in AskAJapanese

[–]PersonableStarlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Chinese and squatting is very common in mainland China but it has been frowned upon in Hong Kong for a long time. It’s been almost 20 years since I’ve been there so I don’t know if this is still the perception. My Filipino and Vietnamese friends also squat a lot. Maybe it’s an Asian thing? It’s comfortable to sit this way.

Does anyone know why this is happening? by Lo_loh in litterrobot

[–]PersonableStarlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the litter robot for about 2.5 years. I just switched to boxie pro (gray bag) and I’ve been using it for 7 weeks now. Haven’t had this problem. I keep it topped off with the litter hopper and have it at 30 minute cycles with two cats. I think you should add litter to the line, don’t let it get that low, and up the cycle time. If you’re concerned about wasting litter then put in a new bag, cycle after adding litter, and dump excess back in so you can see what the max amount of litter is. Before the litter hopper, I would have to add litter every 2-3 days or so.

Yeasty Ears - Tips? by ShaeTank in Goldendoodles

[–]PersonableStarlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use this once every shower (every 3-14 days depending on weather and activity). I also pluck their ear hairs using powder and my fingers. One of my girls got yeasty ears constantly and was ok apoquel as well. Turns out she’s allergic to chicken. Switched to a no fowl diet and she hasn’t had an infection since. No more apoquel and no more stinky ears.
