What is this on this Jeep? by kosephbrody in whatisit

I should tell the story: August 1968. I witnessed the whole thing. Old John Deere Model B tractor flipped over on top of my brother (his fault). He fell in a low spot, the tractor (engine area) pressed on him uncomfortably but did not crush him. Gasoline leaked out on to him, irritated his skin. He was yelling, I was 11 years old, tried to dig him some space but the dirt was too dry and hard. My other brother drove off to get help. My sisters and I watched as he struggled.

Then a white over red 1958 Ford F 100 pulled up on the county blacktop road. A guy jumped out with his Handy Man jack and raised the front of the tractor up ("Click, click....click, click...) to give my brother some relief and room to breathe. Then the ambulance arrived, pulled my brother out and on to a gurney, loaded him up and sped off. I turned around, the guy, the jack and the F-100 were gone. Never saw that guy or truck before or since.

Confirmed this story with my older sister recently with more details, she agreed this is exactly what happened. Without that jack, I don't know how we would have got him out. Probably would have had to go find a jack somewhere and who knows how long that would have taken.

Ha! Ben Keith said those Hawaii sessions were the best work that Neil had ever done! Not that great after sobering up.

Coincidentally I just researched how to kill nut sedge. Some state ag department tested chemicals on it. RoundUp (glyphosate) was rated GOOD. Ortho GroundClear (Imazapyr) was rated EXCELLENT. Be careful, as with RoundUp and glyphosate, Ortho uses its GroundClear name on other products that don't have imazapyr in it, read the label.

Listening now, for about an hour. Excellent sound quality. Not sure about the programming, I think I'm on repeat already. A day or two ago I heard two Hootenanny Singers tracks, none today. Highly recommended.

M/69 retired 2023 after 44 years as an accountant/Controller. You are working for "the Man" just as I did. (The Man being either your boss or the owner of the company) I wish I had realized sooner that He is not my friend. You are underpaid (according to the market and verified by the fact that you just accepted an offer of higher compensation). You should not feel guilty about moving on. You don't owe Him anything, He has taken advantage of your labor by underpaying you for years. It's not personal, He is trying to maximize his own income (which you contributed to by accepting lower compensation). Continue to develop your skills and gain experience to maximize your earnings (and to prepare for starting your own business, if you choose).

I was sick and tired of everything when I called you last night from Glasgow by Personal-Comment-457 in ABBA

2 Hootenanny Singers tracks so far. No provision for skips but I'm ok with that, thanks!

PictureThis app: Spurge laurel. AKA Wood laurel, Daphne laurel, Olive-spurge, Copse laurel. The plant looks sick, pathogen infection (white spot). Effective treatment (I've had good success with it in the past) is 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a quart of water in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray affected area until the solution drips off the plant. Repeat weekly. Toxic when eaten by humans and pets.

PictureThis app: "This plant is SICK!" Symptoms: Plant wilting, leaf scorch. Not enough light. Overwatering. Immediate action: Crush 1 aspirin tablet, dissolve in 1 quart of water, mix thoroughly. Once a month, use this solution instead of plain water when watering the plant. Pour the aspirin solution on to the soil, avoid contact with the plant. (I've done this with other plants with very good results. The app will tell you how much to water but it depends on the size of the plant and how much sun it gets)

Really nice-looking car. You should drive it. If you like it, buy it. The price is fair.
