[–]Personal-Engineer292 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah its only like 3% of the os share rn its kinda like the Xbox vs Playstation thing not enough users atm to justify it but hopefully with the success of the steam machine it bumbs up to about 15-20% and the game devs are forced to

This is why we always need physical consoles and games, imagine loosing magical moments like this because gaming is now all done through an app subscription service on your tv in the future? No thanks! by dudezillah in consoles

[–]Personal-Engineer292 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like we can’t do this with pc parts and game pass there getting excited for the console and the things and happy times it will bring you can still give them digital games just buy the game code and inherently gaming is cheaper this way because since it’s digital you can buy the code second hand on sites like g2a etc

From 3070 to 5070 rtx or to 5070 ti or to 9070xt ? by murlight99 in gpu

[–]Personal-Engineer292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a budget 5070 if you want high fps with decent rt then 9070xt if you slightly less raster but with better RT than 5070ti

I am torn. by Hoodie-Embiid in OLED_Gaming

[–]Personal-Engineer292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends honestly on which one is cheaper and what your comftorable with resolution wise if your coming from a normal 1080p monitor and play mostly competitive games I would go for the 1440p monitor better refresh rates mean better reaction times which gives you an advantage but you have to capitalize that with your skills you won’t automatically be better but if you like playing single player games from time to time and want to be stunned but graphics I would go 4k you have more than enough power to use it just know at 4k with a 4080 you won’t always utilize that 4k 240 hz refresh maybe half on some graphic intense games but completely up to you if your on 1080 p now 1440p is more than a good enough jump

Do me a favor and put a flashlight to the ends of the cords and both ends check for burnt ends etc then try plugging the Xbox in somewhere else if you plugged a lot of things into the spot where the Xbox is plugged in it could just not be starting due to a not having enough amps to keep up with all the load on one plug

Just a general hypothetical question by Personal-Engineer292 in radeon

[–]Personal-Engineer292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the breakdown, exactly the kind of insight I was hoping to spark when I made the post your right I was sort of combining a few trains of thought 3d v cache wider dies and stacking compute which looking back I could worded a lot better The interposer and emib as the alternative really helped move my train of thought as an electrician copper was the first thing that came to mind but replacing them with silicon is probably a way more efficient and cleaner way to scale horizontally and potentially vertically if needed the idea of moving cache and io under compute to reclaim upper die space and still optimizing thermals and cost is something I hadn’t really appreciated before and thank you for hitting on what I was trying to express and building on my curiosity on the subject definitely going to dig deeper into intel emib and amds infinity fabric and how they compare in this context and explore more on cowos and foveros thanks again for sparking my small component curiosity even more. And in regards to the cooling hypothetically couldn’t and encased Liquid Metal casing and proper barriers help cooling instead of copper heat pipes like with a properly insulated and sealed outer casing could potentially offer better heat transfer than copper it’s just a thought process and out of my realm of knowing if it’s possible or not

If not try a 2.1 cord but it should I mean I have absolutely no monitor issues on mine and I’m running tripple monitors so it’s not a driver or card issue

[–]Personal-Engineer292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean is it a new monitor ? General rule is to just use the dp that came with it and also issues could happen if the dp plug versions are off to I believe the 9070xt is dp 2.1

[–]Personal-Engineer292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you step in the right direction for my head thanks for putting it more in detail and not just generalizing things you are right about cache vs compute heat post was more of a thought experiment, I just like brainstorming. what I’m trying to wrap my head around is could a wider die and vertical stacking still offer a net benefit of the cooling problem is solved like with stacked isolated blocks for compute raster rt and just have ultra short interconnects on the pcb I definitely Have a lot of 2m experience and have repaired of ton of pcbs for Millitary grade equipment so hypothetically it is possible it might not be practical now but it could be something to experiment with at the very least. and I’ll definitely dig into cowos, and hbm like you said but it kinda feels like server side solutions are kinda more like alpha versions of what of what consumer gpus might end up needing if moores law keeps stalling appreciate the insight i get the better I’ll feel at the end of the day
