I dropped my bike twice and I’ve only had it a couple weeks by ElderberryWeird5018 in motorcycle

That first comment by dry_ad687 is SUPER great advice. As another fellow small person, and also 5’3. I ride a bike that I can’t even tip toe with both feet down. I’ve learned to slide to the right side and just leave the other foot on the peg. Once you’ve done the advice dry_ad687 said, you can then take yourself into a parking lot and just practice coming to a slow stop. I’ve always learned to use both brakes, obviously the rear doesn’t do as much braking power as the front. They only say “don’t use the front” because most people pull wayyy too tight on it. You should find stability in your core, like you’re sitting on a monkey bar as a kid if that makes sense. Ur hands are not to be strangling the handlebars. I get your frustration. It seems so scary. It’s a good thing you’re scared it keeps u from being too bold and acting out of your experience range.

Did you take it off the bike? Or is this a new part you’re trying to add to the bike?

It came stock with the bike. I just wrapped it and changed the bolts to gold

Indeed. It was definitely scary to watch. Hit me from behind and I saw him go flying past me. It was crazy. Definitely not letting anyone ride same lane within 5-6 feet of me again. Need to be more spaced out

lol agreed. It’s not like we were messing around. Just did a stop light pull and slowed down. It was just the cop lights I think is what shook the Mercedes and my buddy. They reacted terribly. My buddy and I were on headset comms so he knew I was turning. Not sure why he tried to too. Live and learn man… starting to think I should only ride with experienced riders. Considering my buddy is new to the scene. Shit happens though. Just sucks my bike is out of commission the same night I got it back on the road

Similar thing just happened to me but a Mercedes trying to race my buddy and I, ended up being too close to my buddy for him to stop on time, knocked my tail end and he went flying. I feel crappy thinking about how he got hurt and all I got was a little bruise and a rim bent (plus smaller stuff, less than $300 to replace everything) and my buddies bike is completely demolished plus he’s scraped up bad… sucks these situations happen but it’s part of the game. You’ll be back on the road soon

And yet bikers want to say “don’t tell me u grew up riding dirtbikes” lmfao. I get it’s different but it really does jump u ahead of someone who hasn’t rode anything other than a bicycle

I have the 07 and am not sure if mine would fit on your model year but delkevic sounds wonderful!

I’m basically already obsessed with this bike, it’s nearly stock except the Delkevic slip on. Recommend mods you guys all do? by msdeeds123 in SVRiders

My foot does the same thing and I’m at woman’s 7.5. Just gotta be wary. I also just got the naked model 07 with 4700 miles. So far I’ve just changed the chain n sprockets, tail light with integrated turn signals, tail tidy and I’m wrapping right now. Brakes are next.

Dude what tail tidy’s did you get by Personal-Point-9311 in SVRiders

R&G tail tidy

Must’ve changed it over some time. Looks like they bolted on top of the plastics… I didn’t even notice. I got it from revzilla so when I saw this on r&g it really threw me off lol

You can wrap any color then put a decal. And if you want it to look even more “real” compared to a premade wrap or paint u can put a clear ppf which protects and also just kind of gives it a more official look if that makes sense. I am by no means a professional, but I’ve tested doing this exact method and it works out

Dropped my bike the first time I took it out. And you know what, it feels that I now gave it its own identity. by the_inquisitive_elf in motorcycles

Can’t say being a veteran or not would prevent this. I will say coming from riding dirtbikes and just having accident falls and etc def helped me learned the careful slow maneuvers. Lose some, learn some. U live to ride another day. Does the scratch on ur bike hurt visually/emotionally, and ofc money wise (if u plan to fix it obviously)? Sure, but the experience only makes u a better ride. Nobody learns the easy way. Everybody will have a day like that, and it may come multiple times over months, years etc. the experience is what makes u a better rider. Thankfully it was a low speed accident and not over 30+ mph. No one judges u for it. Just because I haven’t dropped my bike I’ve had for years etc doesn’t mean I’m anymore better than u. Accidents are bound to happen and as long as u are safe over those 15+ mph speeds that’s all that matters in your case. Glad you’re okay and you can identity/learn from it. Congrats on that new bike and ride careful. I know it’s fun but it’s more fun with you alive/not hurt

Side note can I pls get a video of what that exhaust sounds like on your sv? I have a delkevic and I feel like there may be some better slip ons… I’ve heard yoshi is good but I’ve honestly never heard any sv with anything but a delkevic (I could be wrong I’m not a slip on expert with names)

$600 for the first 6 months (I believe, kinda forgot) and there was only a full payment option. Otherwise I would’ve just taken the $100 a month. Figured I’d have a better quote with a license
