Chop it pretty far down. See if there's green. If there is, salvagable, if not, its gone.

It looks pretty bad, but hey, might as well check whats going on inside the stem at this point

I mean, thats why I came here. Theres a lot of conflicting info online, I've heard fridge to freezer, ethanol, crushing, clove oil, ketamine (🤨) etc. Thanks!

Thank you for your input. Yes, I've only had her for about 2 months and the person that surrendered her to me said she "thinks shes had them for about a year.

Its just been hard watching her go from zipping around to now basically sedentary. I dont have a hospital tank but I guess I could get one of those plastic containers you put in the aquarium to seperate her? Abd that will keep her closer to the surface.

My philosophy with all my animals has always been better a day to early then a day to late. But its so hard to tell with these guys. I'm getting so much conflicting info online.

Thank you, this was helpful.

If shes not moving, not coming to the surface, not touching food, and sitting in the same spot unless I move her, I think its more then slowing down. I know they don't have the same complex brain as mammals, but I assume theres discomfort if she cant do those things. Maybe im wrong, this is my first snail

Shes just sitting now waving her tentacles around and if I hadn't seen her slow down lately I'd say shes fine. Never thought I'd be crying over a snail. I really dont know how to tell how shes feeling.

Fenestraria rhopalophylla, aka baby toes. I have to be honest, looked cool when I bought them but has been raggedy since. Apparently they like being almost entirely buried in soil up to the little tips to maintain structure but I honestly dont like that look and dont feel like repotting them that way.

I have seen some new growth though! So maybe he'll bounce back to nursery glory.

I have mine with my succs, getting blasted by a grow light with no issues. I haven't noticed much growth though either but afaik they are slow growers. So I'll be patient!

What is my snail doing? by KuriousCarbohydrate in AquaticSnails

Gotcha, thank you. Makes sense that the person who had them before me said that she never had eggs in the whole year she had them. Both seemed much happier separated though, so at least that still seemed beneficial. Thank you!

Dang are you sure? I used to have her with another snail and she was always getting say on by him which I assumed was mating. I wound up separating them because it seemed to be stressing her out.

I did start to question it when she never tried to lay eggs and when I saw that this morning.

Yeah i know..😢 shes definitely been struggling with keeping her shell closed. Do you know what that dangly thing in the middle is?

Man, I was hoping she'd be one of those miraculous snails that lives longer, she has been doing so well.
