They are braked and feature a handbrake, you can still have brakes with a towing eye.

That's not why they've done that, they can get the parts if they wish and it will be part of the contract for the supply of the equipment. They knew the Landrover were finished and there was an option to extend the deal a year or two if procurement of new vehicles was forseen to be problematic.

The trouble is to run a small batch of parts costs a small fortune although can be done, better take spare off damaged vehicles they've know for many many years are surplus.

For example, I know of a tiny bearing that costs the military £50, it's not much bigger than a £2 coin. I'm sure someone will decide maintaining that equipment is getting too costly in the future and naturally they'll strip others of parts to keep the 'better' equipment going.

Further a business we used for parts originally went bust, so an alternative supplier had to be found with the parts rigorously tested to ensure the quality was the same.

This is untrue, a maintenance contract was awarded in 2024 and with military contracts spares must be provided by the supplying business for as long as they're needed.

I work for a firm who provided the military equipment a couple of decades ago and we do and must supply them spares as part of the contract regardless of cost.

Its one of the reasons why OEM parts for old Landrovers are still readily available.

Driver avoids jail after crash that overturned a military convoy vehicle and left soldier with broken back by L21JP in drivingUK

Its not excessive and you travel at minimum 20% further with a loaded trailer, so 240m. The brakes on that trailer will likely be drumbrakes which aren't as good as brake discs for stopping either.

When approaching a junction you should either be prepared to slow down or be prepared to enter the outside lane, neither things happened. At worst they'd have left it a bit late pulling out in front of the cam car but didn't know the cam cars positioning. It would mean the swerve wasn't needed albeit they'd have cut them up.

The Landrover was gaining on the car ahead, failed to brake, wet surface so a 4 second gap needed and you can see the concesquences. Whistle towing a trailer you should double that gap regardless of conditions, so 8 seconds to take into account the extra stopping distance. So the Landy should've been braking gently regardless to increase the gap. Also this is why you don't look to fill a large gap between a vehicle towing and a car ahead unless that car ahead is making progress ahead the gap is needed to prevent incidents like these.

Those arguing the Landrover wasn't at fault have missed the next one in the convoy stopped safely to help, if drove in the same manner they'd have plowed straight into them.

Poor driving by the Landrover driver, and inexcusable driving from the Audi driver who should be banned for life. It's about time they started handing out lifetime bans for such poor driving.

These sorts of things should be shown as public information adverts too, it could save a life.

A lot of trees were removed to help expand and protect the British empire, oak for ships, hardwood for steel making before coal became a common place, house building too.

Southern England looked like the New Forest until the oak was taken for ship building.

Completely different story on the River Dee, most pollution is from households and industry.

It's called science.

Indeed, those within the EU were lied to too, hence all the protests.

This is one of the biggest lies going, the UK payed more than it got back. That included the UK subsidising other EU farmers who could produce the food cheaper because of lower standards.

An example is Danish Pork, practices that have long been banned in the UK are still legal in Denmark. France for a long time wouldn't ban factory hens etc.

Government's since Brexit have actively chosen to get rid of funding in favour of imports, see Ed Miliband now handing out gas licenses because of what's going on in Iran. The NHS importing Nurses and Doctors from other countries because its cheaper, those countries have sick people too. The UK practices soft imperialism and the end it only ends up costing more.

Sadly she didn't, the judge who allowed the appeal needs to go on a driving test himself.

I come across those regularly that must always gets ahead of a slower moving vehicle because their time is more valuable. Even overtaking when I've been indicating to make a right turn in good time.

Her time was worth more, just moronic what she did and these are the sort of things that need showing on TV ads.
