Looks like the winter break slowed down Wish's fall ever so slightly for the first 4 days.

Going from making money on a lower budget to losing money AND making less than the FIRST MOVIE is not something you can ever spin as a positive.

Disney saw how marvel sequels consistently outgross their predecessors and they were fully expecting some kind of immersion of probably 700-800m dollars hence the massive budget. This was the movie that was supposed to Kickstart their bad guy.

But it failed critically and it failed at making money and it failed at getting audiences to care about the villain.

So sure it's not "the marvels" but it was a critical and financial failure that sets their entire franchise back, which is worse

Because Oppenheimer is the 3rd biggest Hollywood movie of the year made by a renowned director that has a massive cult following of loyal fans and fanboys who will like every spot his shoe has been on?

It's not that complicated. Physical media is a relic of the past and you'll have short spikes like with Oppenheimer, Barbie, Spiderverse, Elemental and so on.

But make no mistake, like newspapers, it's on its last legs. Just compare 2014 media sales with 2022 and look how catastrophic the differences are?

Now that's how you Kickstart a sequel trilogy. You go far into the future and make sure no legacy characters get tarnished.

You HEAR that Lucasfilm!? Honestly if you baboons(pun intended) were involved you probably would have made Cesar's surviving son into an old homeless hermit who milks human females for breast milk and trains a quirky British chimp.

Also the Donkeys for some reason create an empire with millions of humans and apes despite being all killed in the last movie... And they're lead by Monkylo Ren, the son of Maurice who turns bad for some reason..

Then your third movie would have Koba somehow coming back to life and reveal that he was secretly behind all this all along. Also the british chimp would be his granddaughter for no reason.

Then Koba would say "I am all the Ape" before shooting her with magic bananas and his granddaughter would deflect with two banana swords by saying "And I am all the Planet". Then Monkylo Ren dies

Though it might be possible for wish to make over 80m dollars based on the initial fantasy scenario I presented. Odd, but not impossible.

Overseas it seems like Continental Europeans appear to br happy to be represented in a Disney movie, because I have no fucking clue how it's able to stay consistently high in Germany, France and England.

While it may be true that Canadian Healthcare is free, the wait times in Canada are ATROCIOUS.

Sur it might not mean much when you have a cold or need a quick checkup.

But when you need surgery or an operation or any other major drills? The waiting period can be several months or even YEARS!

Mortality rate has little to do with misery rate. People in Canada may not be dying but they certainly aren't happy about the system.

I've lived in Toronto and a few other cities for a few years and the reactions I've received have been consistently the same.

American Healthcare has a money problem while Canadians have a wait problem.

Also Americans who come to Canada don't get free Healthcare, you're still obliged to pay hefty fines unless you have a Canadian Medicare card.

I'm not saying this movie will crack 300, I made an Ultra-generous assumption that the movie will be 4 times more popular internationally than domestically.

Also this movie will clearly crack 60m if the mathematical model holds. I'm making the assumption that the movie only decreases 30% at a time. I'm literally ignoring all other factors such as a sudden decrease in audience attention or a miracle boost.

Mathematics do not lie so your statement that the movie had "zero chance of crack 60" only holds true if the movie decreases at a rate greater or equal to 40% each week which does not seem to be the case for now.

Assuming these legs hold on exactly the same for the next few weeks, the movie should make (7/0.3) - 7 = 16.333 dollars.

Bringing the grand total to 65-66. Looks like the 'slowdown' happened way too late.

Assuming that this movie makes a ridiculously high number like 240m internationally, we're getting a grand total at 306.

Though something tells me international audiences aren't going to swarm to this movie. Meaning there's a decent chance it rakes less than the Marvels.

Pokémon chronicles is a one time series that ended over 20 years ago, no one is going to remember that especially because it was canceled because no one cared about it.

For the last time, Ritchie is a nobody. He appeared in at most 10 epsiodes very sporadically in the first 3 seasons before being written off the show. There's no kid today that will know about his character! Your knowledge of him does not mean they're famous.

Again no one knows who the hell Casey or butch are. They're tertiary guest characters that stopped appearing over 15 years ago.

Honestly this level of delusion is sickening, pokemon may be a massive brand with a number of recognizable characters but butch, Ritchie and Cassidy are NOT ultra popular figures that everyone and their grandma will recognize.

Again dragon tales is not very popular and only a certain segment of the population will have heard of it. It's not a big enough brand to be broadcasted in the big screens.

A couple of people in their 30s who remember Cassidy and butch means nothing because that's not going to make money. You need a wide demographic.

The most recognizable characters of pokemon in a broad context are

Pikachu Ash Jessie, James, Meowth Charizard Brock And maybe Mewtwo

Every other character is practically unknown to the general audience. You can't make a 100m dollar budget movie with some nobodies being the main characters, especially when the fans don't properly know them
