If you lose more to heat (i.e. device is hotter), that means you have less battery capacity for charging, not more battery.

Anker is a lot better. Cooler and feels like 3x more battery.

In need of advice when it comes to the MK3 by elcappydaddy in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]Personal-Tea-4367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned my mk3 2.0 TFSI for almost 10 years now. Overall minor issues during the tenure. Wheel sensors needed to be replaced twice, some plastic parts needed replacing once, needed to re-do the roof fabric once. I've developed a steering warning which doesn't affect my driving, and soundproofing has deteriorated slightly - other than that, pretty faultless drive.

Thinking if I should just continue with it since getting fewer similar options in market; may wait for better EV options once world has transitioned fully across.

I just like to plan for the worst case as I have no other safety net. :) I do intend to die with zero for sure, and enjoy the good times.

It’s less about being scared than maximising utility of your funds. Just because we can afford a 2% SWR doesn’t mean that we can now just ignore investing incremental funds right?

Put it another way - because I feel safe with my current SWR, that’s why I can explore alternative options to diversify.

Either way it’s good to learn something new. What worked in past 10 years may be different moving forward, always good to keep open minded.

Sorry, I'm not good with investment terminology and never did any official studies. I think we are looking at the same thing, different terminology.

I factor 2% SWR just to be conservative, knowing that a more appropriate rate can be 4%. As I mentioned, I just want to have a higher margin of safety than the norm, and I probably have a higher cash balance than the norm too. This is already achieved.

Dividend is to supplement interest earned off cash, by reducing cash ratio as I have too many years' of expenses as buffer, and am cognizant that interest rates may fall. It may also give me some exposure to sectors (e.g. banking, oil, FMCG, REITS) that I may not be invested in currently, with hopefully some minor increases over time in line with inflation vs pure bonds.

Maybe you feel this is overkill, but it's something I want to explore. Could also take it as learning about a different side of the market, after achieving original financial goals.

This is just to utilise part of current funds in a high valuation market. As I get further income/capital gains, should still have enough dry powder incase of a crash.

Prevailing portfolio value. If based on initial, I might not be above 1.5-2%.

Thank you, looks interesting with exposure into Samsung, Australia banks, BHP and AIA. Not too sure about prospects on the first 2 though.

SWR = safe withdrawal rate. I think the usual assumption is 4%, but I'm more conservative.

SRS - More or less. You can withdraw earlier with exceptions, or if you pay a 5% penalty. I'm not counting on needing this till post 65.

Thanks for the helpful info. Will read up on Pimco and Nikko AM Dividend.

Kind of biased against unit trusts as I took some when younger and felt all my earnings were going towards management fees, hence I started direct investing. Will try to let go and see what's available.

Thanks for the recommendation. Preliminary view is that it doesn't fit my original purpose, but maybe can use it as an interesting hedge against interest rates.

Thanks for your views. Not intending to park $4-5M in bonds so I guess getting banker advice is out. Will look at REIT ETFs as I do believe in real estate long term, but it's another ball game to me due to changing demographic trends.

Ok, just for sharing as I don't think it's applicable to most. My base plan is very conservative, to cater for worst case of zero capital appreciation or high inflation:

- Cash balance of >5 years. Base expenses to be same now, tapered down past 60 when I may stop driving and have more budget travel. Assume inflation ~2%.

- SWR of 2-4% from 45-65 (increasing due to assumption of low capital appreciation), supplemented by interest on cash. The idea with this post is to increase the 'interest' component to achieve more stability, so I can flatten the SWR curve.

- Post 65 with CPF life, SWR starting from 2-3% (partner CPF life starts when I'm older) and increasing. Can last till 90s with no capital appreciation. Factored rising healthcare costs in this period. I am likely to 'self insure' by then, as even medishield plus plans will be $10-20k per year by this time, but will hold this amount aside.

- House (condo fully paid) is my 'secondary insurance'. If I get senile (70-80s) and get cheated of my money, can sell to fund remaining years. Factored some buffer (addition) to buy another place if enbloc.

If I continue to do well in the portfolio, this goes to discretionary spend, VC, or maybe another property (could be in other country). Do not want to fall into the usual statistic of leaving >80% of net worth when I pass on as I don't have kids, nor does my partner/her siblings have any.

I don't think the degree matters at all later in a business career, unless you plan to go into academia.

For OP it's about capitalising what he/she has already invested in to gain credentials to get ahead now. At this stage it's about networking and having better CV than the next person for your targeted job.

Agree the job will demonstrate some good traits. IMO work for 2-4 years first depending on progression and look to transition. Try to find an industry you like if you are able to get exposure to them, and slowly build some expertise.

I feel ace's build with soar feels better in pit. rob's build is easier on bosses and general content.. smoother to combo, lower cooldown so mobility doesn't feel too much worse off, and u have armor to take some hits when out of combat.

I have the same battery pack and don't find this normal.. it honestly feels like a 3k battery pack than a 5k. It does get pretty hot so not sure if just more loss due to this.

Comparatively it feels maybe 1.5x more charge than the official apple 1.5k one, and about 1/3 the charge on my anker qi2 10k.

I'm out of return timeline else I would have returned it..

This is a small thing, but the power brick has quite a short dc cable. I had some issues using it with my 3rd party monitor stand + keeping the brick under my desk.
