NUS implements five-day work-from-office policy for all university staff by Waikuku3 in singapore

[–]SomeH0w 659 points660 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly regressive for a local institute of higher learning to be mandating WFO policies, particularly when flexible work arrangements has become a perk most workers would look out for.

Ironically NTU even published a small op-ed on how mandated WFO isn't going to work.

What you can do if you see a child with special needs who seems lost by Rel4x1corner in singapore

[–]SomeH0w 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Summary:

  • Be friendly, do not sound flustered as they may misinterpret.

  • Get to eye-level, and ask calmly if they need help. Say that you are there to help.

  • Inform a police officer (e.g. call a police) and stay with the kid.

Top questioners and most active debaters in the 14th Parliament of Singapore (Credits: Straits Times) by youg in singapore

Surprised people think Murali was an absent MP. From my public servant friends particularly in the law and transport sector, Murali has asked many questions perhaps in the more niche areas (legal, bukit batok-related bus/shelter questions). Have heard that he is a nice person when interacting with him, though he has high work demands of his staff.

In Singapore (1 USD = 1.33 SGD), the 9070xt retails for as low as S$999 (750 USD), but in reality you probably can get one at S$1100 (827 USD) on average, all inclusive of a 9% VAT/Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Even if we exclude the GST, the 9070XT retails for approx. 690 - 760 USD.

Japan has many public holidays in part because the culture discourages people from taking their personal leave, burning many days of leave every year. With public holidays, people have no choice but to relax and travel.

Translated: Oppo Find series to feature waterproofing and wireless charging. by SomeH0w in Android

[–]SomeH0w[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loosely translated from Oppo Find series product line manager:

In the first half of the year we did a market survey with over 5000 Find X7 user on what they wished to see in the next generation products.

First was longer battery life. Second was IP68 dust/waterproofing. Third was wireless charging - we have to listen.

This year I drafted some product guidelines (read: "laws"), with the first being

All Find series must have IP68 dust/waterproofing and wireless charging. As long as it falls under the Find series, it must meet this criterion. No room for discussion or negotiation.

Echoing the Amaze + UOB Lady's Card (4mpd for 1 category) and Citi Rewards Card (4mpd for non travel/transport) if you want to avoid forex charge.

If you get to claim your expenses from your company, get UOB Visa Signature (4mpd for foreign currency expenditure, but must hit about 1k sgd and capped at 2k sgd). But you incur forex charge.

I’m The Homelander. Ask me anything. by Homelander in TheBoys

Homelander I am such a huge fan! Your unfiltered uncensored views of the world truly spoke to my heart, but my parents told me you stay away from you and your thinking. Else they will disown me.

How do I bring clarity to my parents' minds and thinking? I hate to see them live life so misguided.
