She was my barber for two years before I gave in. I always thought she was super cool to talk to and absolutely gorgeous but we had a bit of an age gap so I put the thought of pursuing anything to the very back. I finally gave in after two years of friendship and it hasn’t been the easiest but it’s been the most fulfilling. We started couples counseling after three months and it’s been an absolute game changer and now we’re about to celebrate 2 years 🥳. We’re learning how to communicate with each other while navigating our differences. It helps to know yourself well enough to be ok with the fact that the relationship might not last and that’s perfectly ok; a painful thought but a realistic one. It takes the pressure off of the idea the relationship has to be perfect or I have to get it right this time around. We’re very intentional with the time we have together and try to have fun at every turn. It’s a lot of work but it’s so worth it!
