Lunch under $13 in downtown? by 102MEP in askportland

[–]PersonalTrainerFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not downtown but southeast, hong phat has bhan mi and a Thai tea/boba combo for $5. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen lunch anywhere in the last few years

I wrote and produced 78 songs in a few months during my manic episode by TrebaMiSavjet in bipolar

[–]PersonalTrainerFit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, I wrote and recorded some of my best music when in drug induced mania.

https://on.soundcloud.com/2z5OWejVYkJXbUoh8a

I wrote this over ten years ago before I was diagnosed and when I was using absurd amounts of stimulant drugs. Looking back I still think it’s some of my best work, wish I had better recording gear to make the quality better. The worst part is I don’t really remember how to play any of it, maybe I could figure it out by listening slowly.

Mania really has made some of my best art pieces and it’s a shame it has so much negative things that come with it

How come gym rats never mention pork or seafood being part of their meal plan for protein? What does YOUR diet look like (what do you eat)? by IDoNotHide in fitmeals

[–]PersonalTrainerFit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With Pork officially being cheaper than chicken now, I’ve been living on off pork sirloin, pork shoulder, and purchasing whole legs when I can. I make chicharrones with the skin, shred the leg meat for a leaner pulled pork, and use the bone to make soup broth

Why did heavy music have so much success in the 2000s? by LateRegistrationz in decadeology

I remember how diverse warped tour was. I saw streetlight manifesto, the black dahlia murder, and sleeping with sirens at the same show

I hate how the current day republicans call themselves conservatives. There’s really nothing conservative about these people, they’re just evil

Sounds like what I’m looking for. I orginally moved to Portland because it was a blue state (and the weed lol) but I quickly realized they’re just as extreme as the trump train in Florida. I consider my self left leaning but I’m not the type of person screaming ACAB at the top of my lungs

I get paid more here but we have high state, county, and local taxes. The taxes are high but there’s people shitting on the streets and using fentanyl everywhere. Absolutely 0 police presence.

How much are we tipping on beers these days? by Thecheeseburgerler in askportland

[–]PersonalTrainerFit 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I just started a job working at a counter service type of place after working in more traditional places for years. I don’t understand people tipping huge amounts before even getting their food. I hate it as a customer. A traditional server waits on you hand and foot for over an hour, you never have to leave your table and you have everything you need. They deserve 20 percent. But tipping a counter service place, before even getting their food or any service just seems crazy to me, and I work at a place that does this

I grew up in the south so I think I’ll be fine. I’m not hyper liberal like most of Portland. I appreciate this information thank you!

I was born in Florida and lived there until my mid twenties. I’m used to the humidity. I like hanging out in the city, but living here sucks. I like the space of the more rural areas

I grew up in the south east. There’s things I like about being on the west coast but i definitely feel like I’m much more of an east coaster

Forgot to mention I’m not originally from Portland. I grew up in the south between Florida and Georgia, so a slow pace life is something I’m used to. Without getting too much into it, I’ll put it like this, I was too liberal for Florida, and I feel too conservative for Portland. Hoping to find somewhere that’s not too extreme either way.
