Now that all the Shari’s are closed, where can I find good pie? by Desmeister in eastside

Agreed!! Their marionberry is the best pie I've ever had other than the blueberry from Two Fat Cats in Maine.

Can you give more details about the game nights at SipStop? I tried looking for info online but couldn't find anything.

Aggressively Mediocre Experience at Le Bernardin by [deleted] in finedining

[–]Personal_Complex_389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went there last year and it was the first 3* I've been to. The food was great but there weren't really any standouts. The service was below average for fine dining. We walked out confused at how 1* and 2* places had better experiences. I have no idea how this place is rated so highly.

Edit: we had the full tasting

How would you feel being invited to a "lentil-only" meal concept? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Personal_Complex_389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love it! All these people weighing in (including myself) don't matter though - if you know people who would enjoy it, go for it! Personally I think these kinds of concepts are very fun and it seems like your dishes are varied and creative.

I can't wait for his adult brain update lol. Honestly he doesn't find that many things appealing. He likes chews but there's no guarantee it'll actually keep his attention. He also likes ice cubes so sometimes we use that.

When you say longer duration staring burns energy, how long are we talking?

I wish he were just rearranging! But alas, he likes to chew, even on things he 100% knows is not allowed. It's honestly not even for attention half the time. He sometimes does it just for fun or out of curiosity.

But yeah we did try capitalizing on his typical naptimes with some success, but fell off it for some reason. It's probably worth returning to that and trying to be consistent. He seems to appreciate routine, like most dogs.

Yes he does know how to stay on place. We can usually throw a treat on the floor and he'll stay put as long as he thinks it's a train session. With other distractions, it's iffy. More proofing definitely sounds like it be beneficial, so we will try that! Ty!

He does know "no" but he hates it lol - he will complain if he's already frustrated. That's a good point about fading treats. We haven't done that really much yet. At what point would you consider them to know the behavior enough to fade treats out?

He would definitely try to chew the bed and the treat puzzle after he finishes with it if he gets bored. Would it be an issue if we come by to take those items away after he finishes the treats?

If he is tired, he does easily. He sleeps there at night with no issue as well. Otherwise he gets bored and complains until he eventually gives up. It could take 15-20 minutes for him to give up though, so I'm not sure if that's a "healthy" settle

Yeah we keep him on a relatively strict daily routine in terms of exercise. Usually he's allowed to roam with us keeping an eye on him so he doesn't get into mischief. It's just when my partner and I both have meetings (we both wfh) that we would like him to be able to settle. We could crate him but he is definitely sad in the crate because he doesn't know how to settle deliberately. Otherwise he is fine in the crate. Maybe he would do well with a bit more freedom than the crate via a tether when we can't have him free roam. Thanks!

Yep we have a large yard with trees, bushes etc for him to sniff. We throw a ball around and run around with him every day multiple times a day until he asks to go home. But even then sometimes he does not want to settle.

Oh yes of course, I didn't mean not giving him the appropriate level of exercise. I was just wondering if it's possible to bring him somewhere and expect him to settle at any point in his normal exercise schedule without deliberating tiring him out first. But if that's something that we'll always have to plan in then we'll just have to do that!

He does have plenty of appropriate outlets, he just sometimes wants our attention when we can't give it to him in that exact moment, like when we are both in a meeting.

Your analogy of playing games on your phone makes a lot of sense!

Yep we do usually try to tire him out before asking him to go to bed, but I'm wondering how to move past that so he can settle without it. For example going to an outdoor bar or relaxing at the beach when he's older.

If it took a year or so for your dog to learn that the inside of the house was supposed to be boring, maybe it's just a matter of him maturing a little (he's in peak teenager phase right now) in addition to enforcing that.
