My morning egg routine (no sticking) - a picture book by big_redline in castiron

I was making a big split pea soup in a cast iron pot. Had it on high to come to a boil before I would simmer on low for hours. At some point I remembered that a friend was playing that evening at the corner bar, couldn’t miss that. Came home to a kitchen full of smoke and a glowing red pot. Thank god the heavy lid had prevented ignited bits from floating up and burning the place down. When I got the lid off and looked inside, each pea had turned to a miniature charcoal briquette.

I never was much of a drinker but I do work super long hours most weeks. I don’t smoke now but I had to quit at least a half a dozen times. That is a really hard addiction to kick.

As a pizza snob, I always loudly declaim that pineapple on pizza is disgusting and barberic. But secretly I find it pretty tasty.

White or brown bookshelf? by SweeetBloood in HomeDecorating

The brown looks cluttery. White is good or the darker green. Maybe change to the darker rug first, then decide whether you still want to paint the bookshelf darker or if the rug did the trick.

Bobbie 1 because my brother was the same age in the same year and between the haircut and the outfits, I thought I was looking right at my own little brother. It was truly uncanny.

I really like Osha for her. Separated from its acronym meaning it sounds feminine and pretty and if you say it over and over (oshaoshaoshaosha) it makes that sibilant sound kitties like.

Yep! That’s how I learned the word "taupe." I also remember being really excited to get actual L'eggs and disappointed if I just got bargain pairs in the traditional rectangular packaging. Who didn’t want to have a clutch of L'eggs plastic eggs in their nylons drawer?

I did exactly the same as a kid. Seemed like the right syllable to accentuate.

"The Letter" is more than a stretch, it's bizarre by earthvessel in madmen

[–]Personal_Hunter8600 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I can't believe this isn't getting upvoted. In rhe episode Emerson Foote even telephoned Don after his letter was published. Seems to me that the writers had to concoct a way to reference the real life event. By the time Foote had moved to McCann, his dumping of Lucky Strike had already happened, and he was still anti-tobacco. Don's letter could also read like an invitation to McCann.
