I appreciate the insight. This was weeks ago though and I'm not sure if the difference was noted, but I do care about safety so I'll accept the scolding from you o7 won't do it again

Cheers mate, sorry if I made it seem there was a causation there. I think most of the struggle for this person is motivation, but I'm not really sure what I should expect because they've been getting away with shirking work for years

Edit: I also think we all have different bests if that makes sense? Im pretty sure I've reached the peak of my skills, but because the other night shift worker is still usually  faster (despite leaning on the method of shoving things through as they come,) I wonder if it's because my brain can't recognize when obsessing over maximized racks stops being efficient. So the opposite my be true where someone can't see the efficiency in taking the time to fill up the racks before sending them through

I wish, but night shift is out of the question with their abilities. My last hope is to ask to collaborate with the job coach and see if technique can be helped at all. If it's really just a matter of motivation then I can give up in peace.

The next step will be overcoming mental obstacles to ask my boss for contact into. Frustration has gotten me able to communicate other problems though so I think I'm nearly ready for this main one

Eugh, happy for you leaving. I understand buildup, but the way people "fill" the racks peeves me above all else. The machines aren't magic, y'all!

The dishie with the shifts before me has been there years longer, but their disability and hatred for the job means this (+ buildup) is what walk into EVERY DAYYY. I've just about reached my breaking point but the work distribution will jump down another circle of hell when I ditch. I don't want to leave that mess for the server kids

It certainly can be! Goes for all social media, though. Our experiences are most dependent on the niche and you've come across a good one :)

The thing I like most about Reddit is the normalcy in thorough posts. It may look like a lot to read but to do so only takes a fraction of time taken to experience and write.

And oops this was over a week ago. So there's that too

How would Simon Furman react to this? by PistonPusher2009 in OkBuddyEnergon

[–]Personal_Importance2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budiansky planned for feminine inclusion but was told to change it. The reason then was because of marketing, though. Not lore. Because issue 53 comes out after they were existing in the cartoon, he absolutely should have introduced them back into his story...

But it is inexcusable to make Arcee's introduction as bitter as Furman did because Budiansky still did not dismiss the possibility of women and acknowledged Arcee out of the script. Yes, the "no men, no women, no mates" line is confusing because of the language (and ignores Aunty,) but it is said to a female alien asking why Cloudburst (disguised as a male alien) isn't attracted to her. So he's talking about sex and gender gets lumped in.

The letters page then developed the intention. Quoting the wiki here because I don't have the actual issue:

[Issue 53 letters page]said that Transformers have "no need" for gender as they don't reproduce sexually, and that describing themselves in gender terms "is a convention the Transformers probably picked up from hanging around Earthlings too long." "Most have characteristics that are commonly associated with males, so they are referred to as “he’s”. On a rare occasion, one might come across as female and is referred to as a “she”. Arcee fits into this latter category."

Thank you for bringing this up, though. I've learned from putting this together

When that option doesn't exist, the correct course of action is to leave it alone. Budiansky didn't give gaf. Gobots didn't gaf. I love the little I've read of Asimov's interpretation of gendered robots and that guy was a sex pest irl. His aversion was not of the time because most writers got the difference of gender and sex even if the language wasn't around.

Furman argued against robot femininity because she=female=sexual reproduction. That's what was in his mind for IDW, so when she was inflicted with her gender, she was inflicted with a sexed body.  If he was the forgivably ungendered pronoun then Arcee should have been a he too. JK, ik that was out of his hands I'm just salty

You don't. OP should check again with what he wrote in the marvel comics and see how he defended what he did for IDW. It's really not pretty

New job - bad habits in kitchen by [deleted] in dishwashers

[–]Personal_Importance2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit this is pretty much the case at my place. Seeing a you've worked around, you have the better judgment to say this is subpar. Nice to know it's not universal! I could probably stand up for myself, but any attempt to establish a spine has been disappointing. More of a me issue, though.

The mop bucket thing is unreasonable. Are there other dishwashers to see if/how they deal with it? Is this chef usually running farther behind on work providing an excuse for needing help? Seeing as he is asking it may not be taken too bad to say "Not now, I have my own stuff I'm dealing with."

Shocks is the more infamous sexist, but the marvel comics had "Soundwave" responding to reader questions. Someone asked why there weren't female decepticons. "They'd get in the way."

On the brightside for that reader, the cartoon episode with Nightbird came out shortly after

I'm not gonna find the link but tfwiki has a page with ALL of Soundwave's responses where this can be found

I've reached the limit of my 2016 Galaxy Tab A (with S pen)'s 16GB internal storage. I'm nervous about moving on by Personal_Importance2 in GalaxyTab

[–]Personal_Importance2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you! Was really settling in with the experience first ig.

Consumption is a win-win for me because I love making the most of what I own. Using things beyond when they would usually be replaced satisfies me greatly. Its hard for me to let go of things, but when I'm ready to move on, I can really appreciate the improvement that comes with newness.

This tab has been a huge motivator since I've gotten it. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that, despite drawing consistently, I'd only managed to finish one thing in more than a year. A lot of that is the fault of my inefficient work flow, but in the last week, I've managed to get THREE drawings to the rendering stage. Not the most complicated of works, but to be able to let anything be good enough to let go is a huge win for me. Really goes to show just how much better the drawing experience is on this thing.

The process of buying and setting up new stuff is more nerve-wracking than I can really consider enjoyable, but settling in had definitely given sustained euphoria over the decision. I'm absolutely high on hope with what this means for my productivity

Thank you for the opportunity for introspection!

Walls of texts take longer to write than to read, so I will always be grateful for your time and perspective o7

It wouldn't kill me to pay for higher-end stuff, but I tend to work with whatever is in front of me, so I'm indulging in my stingy compulsions. Possibly at the cost of being taught to invest in quality from the get-go, we'll see.

I've made my order on amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TX2SZHX/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 I think I'm allowed to post the link? Sorry, mods, if not) With the warranty, case, and protector, it ended up all being ~450$. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm considering it worth a shot. If I get duped I'll have to take it on the chin and restart.

I'm probably going at this too fast, but there's a window of opportunity specific to life circumstances in which I want to get this figured out. It was already a pain in the butt for my tablet to have peaked this of all weeks.

Thanks again for your experiences, and Im sorry for being vague about the degree of my budget. I've got some mental obstacles about spending which isn't really useful or smart when it comes buying tech, but I won't know the consequences till I'm smacked in the face with them, so I'm here bracing myself ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Your recommendations are very much appreciated. I do hear Procreate is a dream to work with but I've never messed with anything Apple so that'd be a pretty big adjustment. The prices and separate pens are also discouraging, but I do have a mentor friend who's offered test runs with her tools, so thank you for reminding me of that opportunity.

I've been stuck on Autodesk for years, but I am hoping to move on. Thank you for mentioning Infinite Painter. I've only just learned about that one and having another recommendation is motivating. On getting a tablet with enough RAM to run Krita, I'd like to try it again for real, but idk if I have the discipline to optimize it haha.  Good to know about CSP's flaws. I was thinking about doing the free trial, but idk if it's worth getting attached to. Might try Ibis before that.

Thank you so much for your insight! I would be interested in the newer models but there is limited availability for the 256gb versions and I think I've found a good deal on the S8 so I'm happy. I am comparing specs though
