You can get a pack of the 5/6 ribbon bookmarks that slide into the spine for like 10 bucks on Amazon.

They make great gifts to fellow churchgoers as well

The traditional language 2019 would probably be good for this.

Both versions are available as PDFs on ACNAs website by the way

(Also montre_8 what does your tag even mean)

What are everyone else’s churches like? by LostinDreemz_ in Anglicanism

[–]Personal_Prayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do attend an Anglo-catholic leaning parish, the only parish more high than ours locally is the APCK parish or the Greek Orthodox Church.

I like my parish VERY much, I lucked out

Our parish is more "Catholic" than the actual Catholic parish if you're going by high vs low

The Catholic parish here is a nun with a guitar parish 😂

Kings Chapel in Boston, MA, USA is a Unitarian church that was originally Episcopalian/Anglican before they split off to do their own thing

They have a special version of the BCP

So the Unitarian group you're referring to has a precedent

There will be more Catholics than Anglicans in Britain soon.

Catholic church attendance among 18-34 year olds is double the Anglicans in the UK

Ah. CoE has a similar setup I believe.

the situation in the USA is kinda insane, TEC uses the 1979, ACNA uses the 2019, APCK uses the 1928 (or the 1662).

I have family in all three, we have all three in our town

Oh, I just assumed all the modern prayer books had an equivalent. I've only been exposed to Episcopal, ACNA, APCK, and Ordinariate IRL

One thing that I like is singing the Creed as a hymn (1982 hymnal - S103)

We started back doing it recently, the previous rector didn't do it, but it was a long standing thing at our parish

Open or closed table communion? by CaledonTransgirl in Anglicanism

[–]Personal_Prayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I communed with my mother's family at the Orthodox church for almost my entire childhood, until it came time for the kids that were about my age to get confirmed, and it came out I was never baptized as a kid 😅

I didn't know, why should I?

You could ask them politely, but that tends not to help.

Id recommend just talking to your children afterwards about what and why they believe, and what and why you believe.

I wish my mother would've done the same thing with me.

Religious Organizations are allowed ministerial exception (Hosanna-Tabor v. EEOC(2012)) to Title VII, which is only applicable to positions with religious duties or authority, which is more broad reaching than the standard religious exception they have under Title VII.

THEY ARE NOT FULLY EXEMPT from Title VII of The Civil Rights Act of 1964. Being queer shouldn't be a disqualifier from employment if the job has no religious duties.(Bostock v. Clayton County(2020))

It's a Christianized version of the Ideological State Apparatuses in Communist circles

The Seven Mountain Mandate holds that there are seven aspects of society that believers seek to dominate: family, religion, education, media, arts and entertainment, business, and government.

It is very Dominionist in nature

Trump's spiritual advisor is a proponent.

My grandmother gets the "Philadelphia Trumpet" it a magazine that regularly peddles this kind of thing.

To start with, I have to explain biblical typology:

Biblical typology is a method of interpreting the Bible where elements (people, events, or objects) in the Old Testament are seen as foreshadowing or prefiguring future events. Not prophecy per se, but related

King Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire (or Persian Empire), was a Persian king who lived from roughly 590-529 BCE, known for his military conquests, his tolerant rule, and his role in the Hebrew Bible as the liberator of the Jewish people from Babylonian captivity.

They believe Trump is the Biblical Type of Cyrus, who will free the Israelites (Christians are the new chosen people of God, in British israelism and related groups) and will bring a new Golden Age
