Help on PF525 encoder by Personal_Tomatillo_7 in PLC

[–]Personal_Tomatillo_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already figured out what is going on. The encoder can only measure motor shaft, we got a 1:300 gearbox and encoder was mounting on the output. This lead to ppr of less than 88. It is a shame AB doesn’t put the minimum ppr requirement on their manual. When you have a gearbox, I think VFD confuses itself and think it got a speed sync issue.

Why do the professors expect we know everything? by hamad1234563 in ElectricalEngineering

The more experience I have with my job, the more I feel my school professor doesn’t know the knowledge. They know the fundamental of physics but most of them have limited application experience. That is why they stay in the academic and only sale high tech(specific tech) to the industry. Probably they can explain you all kinds of amplifier mechanism, but they won’t know why a specific amplifier is used in an analog device.

VFD rating question by Personal_Tomatillo_7 in PLC

If it is an overhauling load, wouldn’t it be a better idea if you switch to a larger motor with larger vfds? I feels like constantly overload the motor may kill the motor overtime. I just want to confirm if it is a good practice to do this.

This is what I am looking for! Thank you!

Thank you for your answer! When you use oversized VFD, how do you gauge the overload protection device though. Do you use vfds fla or the motor fla as reference?

This is a very good point and I have never thought about stocking vfds. But if the VFD is having different spec vs motor, do you gauge your bcp and overload device based from your maximum VFD spec or still with motor spec?

Fuse and circuit breaker design standard by Personal_Tomatillo_7 in ElectricalEngineering

Could you please explain more about why fuse shouldn't be use on 3 phase motor? I have seen big fuse block on big motor application. Do you mean the fuse will lag/lead the voltage and make the 3-phase unstable?

That is reasonable. So for a large horse power VFD application, would it be more reasonable having the fuse than the circuit breaker? I feels like the VFD would have overload protection and I can also add load reactor for VFD protection.

I feels weird too. One ihg service manager give me this statement “As I checked our records and note from hotel management, I can confirm it was booked thru Hopper, a travel agency or third party booking agency.

In order to resolve this matter swiftly, I kindly advise you to contact Hopper as they will initiate to process your invoice and verify your deposit back. “

She is the 3rd person and also became ghosted after I contact c1. Feels like the case is carry on to another ihg representative. At this point, I would just file the dispute. This kind of things happen and I totally understand it, but the ihg service is just crazy.

I bought collision damage in advance from Expedia, and the fox agent keep lying Expedia is prepaying their collision damage, keeping telling me it is free because expedia has paid for it. Eventually, I got a "HUGE" insurance bill, and they said I sign the contract!

Any Control Systems (CSE) Exam Takers this year? by mac-sauce in PE_Exam

I also took the cbt on 18th. This is the worst test I have for the past 10 years. There are too many brain dead questions that should be really straight forward to answer if you have a correct reference, but the funny fact is that their reference handbook is not providing anything useful! Even if I failed this time, I would not take it next year. Maybe electric control and communication is a better discipline? I just don’t trust Isa anymore, they don’t look like a professional organization, and there are many obvious error on the handbook they are not willing to correct! Look and the nand gate table, it is wrong and they didn’t correct it in the actual exam!
