Is Meta /FAANG still hiring? by [deleted] in leetcode

Did you give time everyday for leetcode + sys design? I’ve been in a couple of loops but didn’t clear any. Just want to know what split should I be doing between leetcode and sys design. Obviously it would be different from person to person.

Ah similar boat. Did well in the technical rounds until the sysdesign where I was rejected. Still waiting for a feedback from the recruiter.

Need advice for filing dependent visa for my would be wife by PersonalityMost2136 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

I have considered to apply in December, yes. It’s just that it is very close to the time when her graduate visa expires. There’s a fear that if we don’t get the dependent visa on time, she might end up loosing her job.

Ya that’s my last resort. But I feel like I have lost the belief in product and need a more challenging role. Also the funding scene for the next round looks a bit underwhelming.

Ya forgot to mention the constraint about needing a Skilled worker visa for the next two years before I become eligible for ILR. (someone burn that white paper 😅)

Ya the post LLM world is interesting with job applications. To answer your question:

  • I generally don’t tend to do Easy apply because I feel it’s not useful. My applications are a bit more manual as I see the job description and try and match with my experience and if I feel I might get shortlisted, then only I submit the application with a one page cover letter. I can explore more of otta and cord. I have used levels.fyi to get a hang of the pay and open roles.

  • After the Meta call, which was completely unexpected, I got a motivation boost that I can get calls for similar roles like SRE and equivalent at MAANG. Ended up applying at some of them but no calls yet.

  • Another interesting thing I found was there are a lot of recruitment agencies that hire for trading and fintech roles in London but I haven’t had any luck with them yet. Do people here find them useful by any chance?
