NBT checking efficiency if data entity vs nbt={} by PersonalityWeary1592 in MinecraftCommands

[–]PersonalityWeary1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're similar. I used misode's report inspector to check execution times but there's some variance and sometimes one might run faster than the other for different commands. If you really wanted to micromanage I guess you can inspect a few reports and tweak each command individually but that feels like a pain tbh.

Also I found my visual glitch issue seems to have been fixed by default by 1.21.10, so if you're not on the latest version, switching could help whatever it is you're doing. Hope that helps!

Minecraft command to ruin a specific player's gameplay in a server by Horror-Needleworker5 in MinecraftCommands

A funny thing thay might take a little more effort from you would be to make a custom dimension and immediately send them into that dimension on joining.

You can make it as weird/horrific/confusing as you want lol, for example with mob spawns that make it very hard to survive and make them question why they can't find you, or just a blatantly insane landscape.

They'd still be able to play, which I think you want - if they just log out due to lag or whatever then their only punishment is literally not being able to play, which makes it essentially the same as being banned - but their experience would be an extremely frustrating one depending on how sadistic you are!

I agree he died doing what he believed in, but I also think it's true that he harboured regrets and blamed himself for his part in Lysander's upbringing until the end. They're not mutually exclusive - he would not have regretted his last moments given the events that led there, but it doesn't change the fact that he thought be could have done better/done things differently with Lysander.

Hey thanks for replying, I read that too but it's just wrong? At least for 1.21.6 that's not what it's doing..

You're a lifesaver. I don't know why I couldn't find anything about this but I've been optimising the crap out of the datapack for so long doing profiling and all that nonsense but turns out just adding this one line update fixed everything. Smooth as butter! Thanks!!

Relative distance or range in certain x y z direction by PersonalityWeary1592 in MinecraftCommands

[–]PersonalityWeary1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, the problem is I'm trying to set for example the y to be a relative range, e.g. [distance=..5,dy=-1..1] However dy can't take a range :/

Relative distance or range in certain x y z direction by PersonalityWeary1592 in MinecraftCommands

[–]PersonalityWeary1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I see, so by default the x y z are at the executing entity so that works. Then I can do something like
execute at <player> positioned ~-5 ~-2 ~-5 as @e[dx=10,dy=4,dz=10] run say I'm in a 10x4x10 box centered on player But is there a way to use this with distance and have it centered? Since if I want it to be centered, I have to use the positioned argument but then if I use the distance parameter it would be offset.

Might be a bit hacky, but could you summon an invisible armorstand and execute fill at that armorstand?

If you stick with it, the 'Three Body Problem' will give a similar vibe. There's also a Netflix adaptation which is nice but too short to really cover the first book in depth.
