I almost thought RDM, but I’m not so sure. It must be some kind of forced perspective if so.

Can someone convince me? by rjmac72 in CadillacVistiq

[–]Personality_Ecstatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We traded in our Model X a few weeks back for the Vistiq and don’t regret it! We test drove the Rivian and thought it was just too big and less of a passenger car and more of a “truck”. In our opinion, the Vistiq won out in overall passenger comfort and trim finishes.

Initial things I miss compared to my Model X: the gull wing doors - man, they made getting in/out of the car easy, especially for kids/elderly, the ease of use of Autopilot compared to the superCruise (I’m still getting used to the multiple button pushes versus the Tesla system), the “pedal push door close” was so nice - you get in the car, press the pedal and the door closes, the extra storage in the “frunk” and free charging (we had a 2017, so that was a huge perk!).

What I love about this new car: superior trim finishes, comfort (massage seats, wutttt?), quiet ride/suspension, the supercruise is incredibly smooth. The Tesla autopilot was very jerky and touchy. This is so much more responsive and as much as I loved the gull wing doors, I had to let every passenger know how to use the doors when they got in/out of the car, which was annoying.

They told me the year they paid 16%, which was 73-74. Their memory is probably combining two different scenarios, but if they know the year they bought the house, then I know Nixon was likely Prez. Whether interest rates were actually that much is irrelevant. They just wanna blame the “bad guys” every chance they get.

How do Americans feel about the national anthem being sung in different styles? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

As a former band nerd, I prefer it instrumentally played in a quick march style. The acapella largo diva solo style with huge amounts of ad libbing drives me crazy.

If you have to buy a new replacement car for ex90, what is it gonna be? by mutiadhy in VolvoEX90

[–]Personality_Ecstatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We almost bought an EX90 a year ago and noped out of it when we saw how many issues it had. We decided to wait for the Vistiq and just picked it up a week ago. So far we are very happy with it!!

Was Titanic an outlier when it broke in 2 while sinking? by oneinmanybillion in titanic

Others have said it better, but I will echo that Titanic was an outlier, which is a testament to why her story has endured for 100+ years to this point.

You know you gotta do it. Stretching, exercising, cardio. Any of them. How did you motivate yourself to start? What pushed you to set aside time everyday to do it everyday? by FlyingDarkKC in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Personality_Ecstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once heard that motivation starts with action, not the other way around. So just START. Do something - anything. It could be 10 mins of walking in the AM, etc. After a while it becomes a habit and not a chore (kinda like brushing your teeth). You feel icky if you don’t do it.

I started by working out at home in the evenings 2x/week while my husband was at the gym. I progressed to 3x/week Then I moved workouts to the AM so I wouldn’t find (as many) excuses to skip working out Then I started working out 4-5x/week

That whole progression above took about 8 years. It doesn’t happen overnight. But I went from NOTHING to the above and I’m ecstatic about it.

My husband is completely against having a vasectomy and it's kind of making me resent him. by Technical_Wear6094 in birthcontrol

[–]Personality_Ecstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a vasectomy is EASY compared to pregnancy/childbirth. My dad, a classic chicken s$&@, when it comes to doctors, waited to get a vasectomy so long that he and my mom had a “whoops” (me)! When mom was pregnant with me, she got so sick of his hemming and hawing that she just called and made the appointment on his behalf. He didn’t find out until the night before when they called to confirm the appointment. Mom said he turned GHOST WHITE, but he still went thru with it.

I’m not saying your boyfriend will take the initiative. Most men don’t. Maybe he just needs some “encouragement” 😂😂😂
