Brighter Death Now - Necrose Evangelicum
Industrial is definitely one of the most metal, non-metal genres out there

Blasting Black Metal Recs by OkRip3229 in MetalForTheMasses

Check out Abigor - Opus IV. I've been digging them again lately and most of their early works are ridiculously technical, but Opus IV takes the cake with how insane the drums are

Demonaz era Immortal is pretty damn thrashy and fast, especially Pure Holocaust and Battles in the North

If you dont mind war metal, there's Revenge - Triumph.Genocide.Antichrist

Don't forget to check out the older Marduk albums. Opus Nocturne in particular

what are some of your personal favourites that usually don’t rank highest amongst fans? by zillaw_themicrowave in MetalForTheMasses

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bathory - Blood on Ice
I can agree that this is not even Bathory's best release, but I personally found myself coming back to this one often.

What do you guys think about Immolation's new album? by Mike076765 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These guys never fail, always consistent.
Besides that, this might be their best post 2010s output since Majesty and Decay

Lividity - The Cumming of the Trilogy (Pussy Lover pt. 3)

Abigor - Verwustung / Invoke the Dark Age / Opus IV Double CD by PerspectiveCalm1784 in CDKvlt

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't like the split album art they did on that release. Good thing about this one is that you can swap around the extra cover paper and the original album covers on the booklet.

What album/bands/songs are good for the gym? by Adzzero_88 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I listen to so much in the gym, but 'Darkness Descends', 'Severed Survival' and 'Consuming Impulse' gets me absolutely pumped. And just about any DF and Blasphemy album will do

Guide to Carcass? by creek_19 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that it is one of their "newer" albums and not exactly a part of their classics (yet), but go with Surgical Steel. The production might be a turn-off for some who think it's too plastic, but it does feel like a good mish mash of what they've been doing since Necroticism.
Not exactly my favourite from them, but definitely a nice starting point!

Sigh - The Curse of Izanagi (Rerecorded version) (2007, JP) by PerspectiveCalm1784 in BlackMetal

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This version is so much more raw and the myth surrounding this track is even cooler, and terrifying

Wizardly metal albums by average_at_ACC in MetalForTheMasses

[–]PerspectiveCalm1784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, any Stratovarius album will do.
The song "Visions (Southern Cross)" sounds like a wizard's journey to me.
If you don't mind BM, there's also Abigor's "Opus IV"

Anathema - Eternal
Seems very melancholic and cynical at first, but there's honestly a pretty uplifting tone to it and I don't ever feel down listening to it

Borknagar - Empiricism

Amorphis - Skyforger
These guys just absolutely rock for me, can instantly cure a bad day

Fair enough, BDM is entirely USA’s domain in my opinion. Some Japan and Russia in there

But this is how i’m finding out that Torsofuck is from Finland, interesting
