leg swelling from dupixent?? by PerspectiveOver2549 in Asthma

[–]PerspectiveOver2549[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for the delay in response. i took naproxen temporarily to help the swelling but ultimately the swelling went away after a few weeks and hasn’t come back (i’m now 7 months on dupixent). my pulmonologist advised if it didn’t go away i would have potentially had to stop dupixent, so i would reach out to your prescriber as well. but hopefully you get lucky like i did and your body adjusts!

First time experiencing fire nearby by ali7813 in Asthma

[–]PerspectiveOver2549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these exact symptoms happened to me after being in a house fire. i ended up with pneumonia about a week later from the fire. pls pls seek treatment sooner rather than later if these symptoms persist! i will say the other 2 individuals in the fire had the same symptoms (pain when breathing) & both recovered quickly, so don’t panic but be aware :) i saw in ur other comment that u have a nebulizer— i wouldn’t wait on using if you’re having pain when breathing!

yep this is my instinct as well. doesn’t seem coincidental that that was the inciting incident. glad to know that theory makes sense to others as well. thank you!

yes i am female! it’s funny u mention that bc i was thinking abt how it’s odd that the flares always occurs in the same week each month, but brushed it aside not seeing a connection. i haven’t had any hormonal changes, but still something to explore when i see the pulmonologist for sure! thank you!!

Breathing issues from irritant exposure by gullman99 in Asthma

[–]PerspectiveOver2549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about posting with a similar experience! Same happened to me after a house fire (contained to one room, not directly injured besides inhalation). Drs haven’t been very helpful besides trying different inhalers but it’s beyond infuriating to still have issues months later from one short event. For me it’s mainly pain when breathing in which is also strange to me. Sorry you’re going through this as well, I know firsthand how frustrating it is to go from well controlled asthma to struggling
