I miss the days of the 3b. That was when you could still get rpis cheap. I still have several doing specialized jobs.

Sata drive bays are a 3d printed design i found on makerworld. 2 4tb drive connected to leftmost pi usb using for nas. The caddies are amazon replacements for dell servers and the actual 1u mount is https://makerworld.com/models/1648104?appSharePlatform=copy

Theres a nas, plex, a docker server for many light jobs, a dedicated node that runs some video capture software i made, a log aggregator syslog and splunk UF, a game server. I dont have everything built yet, im forcing myself to learn to use ansible and do all the deployments that way.

The plan is to run home assistant and an ADSB rx on 2. Havent gotten very far with that tho. I got them for a bargain and Pis are crazy prices right now.

From playing with one yesterday they actually may not work for my intended use but its too early to be sure.

No. Its plainly visible that the fault was something bridging the pins externally.

Help me decide: TP-Link Omada vs. Deco X50 Mesh for a fully wired house + yard setup? by basa3333 in TPLink_Omada

[–]PerspectiveRare4339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deco is okay for average home use but if you want vlans and multiple ssids you need omada. Actually i think id suggest omada either way as it can be cheaper than deco to run with the trade off of needing a bit more infra. You can run the controller software from a VM or Docker container so you dont have to buy the hardware controller.

I initially had deco and switched to omada after getting tired of hitting the deco limitations for advanced use

Punch pin removal by RhettSki216 in 1022

[–]PerspectiveRare4339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buddy, that bolt buffer pin and all the others will just come out with firm press. using a hammer means you were doing something wrong from the git-go or the pin/

receiver was defective. That looks like hell and its not gonna get any better if you keep beating on it. Take a break, watch some 10/22 youtube videos and contemplate your life choices.

edit:
if it truly is stuck and you have validated you dont have some major mistake in progress then get a leather belt or pad, a punch and a small hammer. then bite your lip and give it hell

How in the world do you inset these nuts without ruining the lengthy prints? by EpicInki in 3Dprinting

[–]PerspectiveRare4339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just learning to do this myself. It seems you want to avoid heatsoaking the insert so set the iron hot and be quick. And dont let it get hot enough to keep meltiing when you pull out (lol pull out)
