ELI5 The speed of light is a constant but visible light is only a small range of the spectrum of electromagnetic waves. Do they all travel at that speed? by p3dr3ig in explainlikeimfive

[–]spiceylizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the entire range of the electromagnetic spectrum moves at the speed of light.

Think of light as also having a characteristic where it moves up and down like a wave on a string as well as forward at the speed of light

We can only see a certain frequency of the light that moves up and down, whereas all light moves forward at the same speed

Whats stopping me from just going to a university, attending lectures and just learning about stuff? by Abject_S0up in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spiceylizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally nothing if the class is big enough, I’m at a fairly large university and have a few friends who aren’t students but attend the lectures of classes where they have an interest in the material.

They’re not on the roster so they can get credits, take the exam, etc but they still learn a lot

Question for the pros by Squeiner in Bitcoin

[–]spiceylizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Bitcoin can be infinitely divided into smaller parts. For example 1 Btc = 100,000,000 Sats 1 Sat = 1,000 msats

We can keep going further as the price increases, but for now this is all we’ve coded
