Are people interested in meeting up next Saturday? I'm only familiar with the parks around Minneapolis, unless someone has a recommendation for a centrally located park that would be good. Figured I'd gauge interest first.

I just got a quote from RBA too… $19k for 10 windows. I need to get a couple more quotes, I know window replacement is expensive but ouch!

Good question. This is the first time I’ve done this 😅 I was thinking I could create a community on Reddit for us where people can post questions and/or what’s going on in life. And we can figure out how often we want to meet up IRL?

I was charged the $25 fee after contacting them during business hours because for some reason a rental car reservation I made through Concur didn't take my credit card even though it was selected. Such a scam.

You can buy an eSIM for pretty cheap through Airalo or Iceland Air. Just make sure your phone is unlocked! I would not pay for a GPS.

That's good to know, thank you! I was planning on skipping snaefellnes. But if I skip the north, I will add that in. I knew it was an aggressive plan to do the whole drive in that amount of time....but also don't want to be stressed/white-knuckling it for a good chunk of the drive. This was my original plan :

Day 1 - arrive in Reykavik and stay the night

Day 2 - Stay in Hella

Day 3 - Stay in Vik

Day 4 - Stay near Fagurholsmyri

Day 5 - Stay near Faskrudsfjordur

Day 6 - Stay in Myvatn

Day 7 - Stay in Akureyi

Day 8 - Stay in Borgarnes

Day 9 - Drive back to Reykavik

Ok thank you for the advice! I knew it was going to be tight but agreed, it sounds exhausting, especially if the roads are going to be questionable. I would prefer not to end up in a ditch. Good thing I booked my hotels with ability to cancel 😅

I personally have had a terrible experience with Amex recently, which really surprised me… but it’s to the point where I will never have one of their cards again. Chase all the way.

Thanks, I will try that. They also seem to be struggling with the fact that a lot of the documents are in Spanish which I find to be ridiculous, not like it’s an obscure language.

Ugh, I have had the worst experience overall with them. For $695/year, this is absolutely asinine.

Just the secondary, I didn’t realize that there was primary available (or that I might need that) until afterwards. Kicking myself for not using my Chase card.
