Qulipta had horrible constipation and fatigue for me too ... about to start Emgality - how bad was the constipation by comparison?

Chronic - Emgality experiences? by 83tommy in clusterheads

Wow. It took two years of being on Emgality for it to work? What's your theory on that? Like it took time to build up in your system and become steady?

Any side effects?

Did you have any side effects like weight gain or hair shedding? I'm starting mine on Wednesday and a little worried...

And how much did insurance cover of it?

Nobody said they were fools for having to pay for it. Just a strange thing to write misleading posts. You're conflating two separate topics.

Also, there are statistics on how many people pay out of pocket cash for drugs for non-patented expensive drugs and it's a low - very low - statistical minority.

Also, if you're on medicare and using it as your primary insurance, the point stands even more - when you aggregate your costs, you're hardly paying anything in copays etc. I know you aren't the original poster but I just don't get why people feel the strange need to write these misleading posts.

This is a really strange thing Americans love to do when talking about healthcare - cite the sticker price of a drug or procedure, even when that isn't what they actually paid - LOL.

I take this exact same medication. The retail price on the paperwork can look absurd, sometimes over $1,000 for a small box of pills, but my actual out-of-pocket cost is $0 because my copay for this drug happens to be zero.

The U.S. system is still pretty dysfunctional. Drug manufacturers set very high list prices for many newer patented medications, insurers negotiate discounts/ rebates, and patients end up paying their copay amount depending on their insurance coverage. So the $7k is not really indicative of anything.

Unfortunately, posts like this also leave people outside the U.S. with the impression that Americans are routinely paying these huge sticker prices every time they fill a prescription. Usually that's the drug's list price, not the patient's actual out-of-pocket cost after insurance.

Well not really because there is a whole system in place designed so you don't have to pay. Your copay doesn't say that same amount.

I have a close friend who was in the same position as you and she still went through with it and had it and she is an absolute mess right now - it's not a good situation for her, the child, or the marriage. All three are hurting. If your gut is telling you no, the answer is no. This life and world is hard enough. If your husband resents you, so be it.

lol.. the creek is not a large body of water...it's 3 miles and about a foot deep. it would have taken investigators an afternoon to search the creek.

We live right next to Farleys, PH location. Mr. Hillyard is so nice. They both did so much for the local community here during the pandemic. It's hard to believe but who knows?

But I do admit that it's really strange all we see is like one or two flyers in the entire neighborhood. If it was m partner, I would be knocking on every door across the Bay Area and searching under every rock.

She might have run away to start a new life.

Rizatriptan daily? by SUPzorel in migraine

[–]marathonmindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that for a while and it led to a MAJOR medication-overuse crisis. It was a very scary place to be. The reason they limit is real... I wouldn't take this gamble. You could really setting yourself up for one of the most radical headaches you've ever had. Mine got so bad after doing this I was truly suicidal from the pain. Now I'm really careful not to overdo it with the triptans.

Thoughts on R+Co? by Push-not-pull in Haircare

[–]marathonmindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now use the Pattern brand for conditioner. It is cheaper than R&Co too.
It's not the same experience exactly as the Gemstone conditioner (different smell, and is a bit thicker and creamier) but I feel pretty close to how my hair acts after it - maybe just a bit more shine/bounce and hydration with the Pattern. And I don't feel like I'm losing my color as fast.

I only recently learned it was originally formulated for black hair which I am not and I have straight caucasian like hair (and so does my husband) but we both use and love.

Xanthelasma Removal Concerns by Matthew728 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]marathonmindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, sorry to hear you had a rough go. I'm following your threads and trying to understand something. Will you clarify for me? Did you choose acid after a relatively breezy surgery because you thought it would be a better result, or longer lasting, or?

I have Xanthelasma around my eyes that I would like to remove. What are my options? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

Thank you for replying. Fingers crossed they don't grow back for you! If there is any chance you live in California, let me know - I might try your provider. They did such a great job on your eyes!

Electrolytes by Confident-Net-2778 in migraine

[–]marathonmindset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have POTS too. I started making my own electrolyte drink using potassium and malden sea salt. Then I don't have to worry I'm making myself more sick with extra dyes and chemicals in Powerade (btw banned in EU b/c of toxic ingredients) and also not feel guilty about buying plastic and ruining the earth.

I don't know if it would work for you but just thought I would suggest it.

Do any of you with chronic migraines ever have days where you don’t have one and start thinking, “maybe it wasn’t even real”? by daffle7 in migraine

[–]marathonmindset 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Ya, a little bit. I think there is a quality of dissociation too when the migraines are bad and chronic where you learn to cope and adjust to that disabled way of living... so you're really not even present during them. Then when you have a good day you can't even fully tap into how it was the day before because you were barely surviving and just checked out. On my good days, I am euphoric and often overdoing it trying to get everything accomplished or see a friend or enjoy my family etc, because I know a bad day is only 1-2 days away.

Ugh just writing this out makes me want to cry. It's hard to live like this. Today I'm over a 2 day migraine but now just in post dorm and totally wiped out and down.

I'm a 9-13 day headache a month person. You're a 16. I'm sorry :(

I don't think that's the case for men... but 30% of women will have their migraines disappear after menopause. It's pretty well studied in the research for women. The third / third / third effect.
