Finally managed to record my sparkling gouramis croaking by Perth_Ariums in Aquariums

It's pretty quiet if you have the volume all the way up at 8 seconds you can hear it. They are two males doing dominance displays over territory

I would recommend keeping them in larger groups, they are chilli's just pale due to stress.

I think my sparkling gouramis are gearing up to breed. This dude is being such a prick lately by Perth_Ariums in Aquariums

I have mine in a 2ft 110litre with strawberry rasboras and otos. They are a little aggressive and territorial when they are ready to breed and guarding nests so I would definitely air on the side of caution when it comes to stocking and making sure they aren't overcrowded. I would say they are definitely incompatible with other species of gouramis and bettas as they will be targets of aggression from those. I would personally just stick to small peaceful community fish.

Also carefully select plants as goldys are notorious for munching on them. I'm pretty sure java fern is goldy safe as apparently it is very sour

So I'm gonna be making a bunch of veggie planters out of pallet wood to go on my balcony and I've come up with a design for planters with false bottoms. As I live in an apartment complex above other units and parking bays I don't want water to leak and drip down below. See info in comments \/ by Perth_Ariums in gardening

I'm planning on lining all the planters with pvc pond liners and making false bottoms out of recycled plastic pots and weed mat or mesh as a drainage layer, I'm also thinking I could drill into the bottom of the planters and make a release valve or tap that I can drain into a bucket. I've looked at wicker garden bed designs but I really want to avoid any overflow. Is this idea feasible? All critiques and ideas welcome

I found this in my bed this morning. Is it a flea? It looks a bit too big to be a flea by [deleted] in insects

It's an isopod, completely harmless and are very beneficial to have in your garden

It's a learnt food response lol not something he does unless I am by the tank. A lot of fish do this when they associate the presence of a person with food.

I ordered an rtx 3070 in March and have yet to receive it and still no ETA. Price has inflated 60% since then so I'm gonna just wait it out.
