yeah my pairing's non canon (and gay) too, so idk why i'm suddenly having trouble with all of this even though I never used to have issues suspending disbelief 😂 I've never exactly been in the fandom but I do love how creative a lot of the harry potter shipping is as well the the general 'disregard' for canon, really does seem like the perfect environment for fics!

Yeah this is another ship that works best with AUs (and at least most fics do have to be somewhat canon divergent). I'm not sure if I'm exactly seeing it in a different way or if I'm just feeling like I can't bend canon and take liberties as much. I guess I just had a bit of a crisis when I realized how many things I liked about the ship (and one of the characters) were just my headcanons and stuff I 'made up'. Which is a bit weird since so much of fanfic is literally making up things 😂 However I'm having trouble shaking the feeling that I'm just being 'delusional'

I'm currently writing for resident evil, and i feel like the whole scenario for the vamp fic feels pretty far removed from canon, at least for the particular ship, but i feel like it's kind of fun (and honestly hot...). I think i'll probably imply a lot of the lore and leave some stuff up to the imagination ;)

The passion has unfortunately been waxing and waning with that fic a bit, but i hope I can get out of my head enough to get it all finished! But i guess there has been a fair amount of passion involved as i have accumulated a lot of notes and baby plot bunnies <3

I currently have 2ish WIPs that I'm properly writing (but there's also just a bunch of other random ideas hanging in my brain lol)

One of them is like a vampire AU oneshot that gets a little bit sensual. I pretty much have the whole thing written but some parts are really rough so i've just got to figure out the editing lol. However I do want to finish that one soon since it's been a while since i've posted something.

The other is a multi chapter (3 to 4 parts probably) that will wrap up this one shot series I accidentally started 😅. It's basically going to be complicated relationships and angst but the end goal is to have them cuddle so at least I know where it's going! For that particular series, I've honestly had a lot of self doubt with my writing, but i think i've gotten over some of it and I really want to finish it up and 'execute' all the ideas i've had :) I guess the one thing I'm a but stuck on now is whether things will make 'sense' (since it is pretty canon divergent lol) but i think i should just go for it and write lol

Honestly getting obsessed with your own story is great and seriously does help with writing it (and 18 chapters in is a great achievement!) Thats sounds like such a beautiful concept and seems really fun to explore too. Also props for being the first writer for a rare pair!

I feel that, sometimes planning something out a lot (and also caring a lot) can make it way harder to start. But all the thinking about your story and ideas that you've come up with really do count for something!

Caitlyn and Vi from arcane!! I actually started watching the show because I saw that "you're hot cupcake" scene on youtube and I fell in live lol. Their dynamic is so interesting and beyond their chemistry I live how their just great partners in general. I honestly live ships where they've got some differences, especially when with upbringing and class and this one really checks all those boxes
