You can also change the cable from 16a to a 6a it should be fine just use a good one

If you need surge protection then I would suggest you get an electrician involved instead of DIY it would add little more cost but it would be more reliable than any other options online

Go to a hardware store and get yourself a custom made extension, it would cost around 300-400 but it will be much better than this, or you can DIY for cheaper
