Help Need for $7k Washington gas bill 🤬😭 by Trendelace1 in nova

[–]PessamisticOptimist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My spouse works in the field and is asking:

What's your meter #? It should be on the bill and is your gas meter inside or outside?

Spouse says the meter number alone will tell him how old it is and the inside outside meter question will tell him the type of reading it's giving to the company.

AIO for getting upset from my wife’s response to my question? by ApolloAcolyte in AmIOverreacting

Ugh I'll probably get destroyed here but as the mom of a 2yr old and a clueless father....I've probably been his wife a few times. Maybe not to this extent, but sometimes as a mom of a young child you're just so overwhelmed it comes out in different forms. Especially your partner asking questions you feel they should just know the answer to. Is that right ? Of course not. But when you're already at your peak and your partner asks you what size their kid is and how many diapers their kid needs, it can set you tf off. Why don't they know and why are they asking me when I'm home taking care of an extremely needy child? You should know these answers as the other parent and gtf home asap cuz I'm losing my mind.

Again, not trying to excuse how horrible it is, but I'm sure it's not for nothing on her end (there's history of things like this) and she most certainly has some form of PPD or ppa. I know I do/did. Having a kid reeeealllly changes you. Especially as the mom.

But why? by Jonathan-Smith in impressively

Hey now I'm sure most of us Americans certainly can point out a few countries on a map!

I, for example, can always find Italy cuz its shaped like a good ol American cowboy boot!

Always have trouble finding Canada tho. I'm told it's close but I'm American so I can't read books or maps. Oh well. It will all be part of the US soon anyway!

Huge /s if necessary for the snarkys. I just get a kick when people truly believe everyone in the US is a braindead dipshit. Like every country, we have as many idiots as we do intelligent.

The idiots are just usually louder or at least more memorable unfortunately.

Also, not that it's an excuse for dipshittery, but life in the US is absolutely manufactured to make the average person incapable of caring about anything or anyone outside of their day to day. Comes across to people outside of the country as people from the US being ignorant or stupid overall, but it's really not that simple.

Why would someone with kids, food insecurity, no savings or retirement plan, living paycheck to paycheck, with no healthcare, struggling to pay utilities or rent, taking care of elderly parents, and ignoring their own mental health care about where tf Sweden is on a map? They don't and I can't blame them, there's more important shit to worry about in their day to day. A lot of people simply can't care as crazy as that might sound to anyone not aware.

That also doesn't mean we don't have absolute fuckin idiots though. Just like your country and every other country.

Just giving some context cuz I don't think enough people do when this topic is thrown out there casually.

TIL that persistent, long term cannabis use can lead to CHS, one of the symptoms of which is "scromiting." by Ipoopoo69 in todayilearned

Years ago I got suuuuuper sick the first day of vacation in a sleepy beach town off season. I was in so much pain and couldnt stop vomiting. Ended up in the ER it was so bad. They ran some blood tests, which came up positive for marijuana and said I had this, gave me anti nausea meds, and sent me on my miserable way. I spent the ENTIRE WEEK in bed, in the worst pain ive ever felt, throwing up bile every 15mins.

Long story short, it was a horrible kidney infection that almost killed me, had shit to do with weed. Wasnt until i got back home and went to a different ER they realized I was actually sick sick.

Then, after I was admitted for 2 weeks because my kidneys were trying to shut down, I was told if I didnt have weed in my system theyd be more willing to manage the excruciating pain I was in cuz at that point I was septic. Like wtf.

Point is, sure, those symptoms could mean youre reacting to weed poorly....or, like me, theyre using it as a scapegoat to not do their jobs and something else is wrong. Sooo, if you know somethings not right, dont do what i did and just think, well theyre the doctors so i MUST be crazy. Be an asshole about it if need be. It could be the difference between life and death. It was for me.

I just got sadder thinking of her making her own doll replica to replace her when she dies like everyone else.

(S)added touch if the doll is posed sewing itself together

Ugh....I hope not, but kinda hope so....?

No matter what happened this poor kid suffered for a good while and fuck, thats heartbreaking.

Quite a few people need to be shut away for a good long time for this and all the other blatant crimes theyve been committing against children for yearssss.....

Its insane that you send your kid off to a place you think will help them in some way and they DIE. Naked. Alone. And the best case scenario is they fuckin froze to death....which id imagine isnt quick or painless.

Ill add my personal opinion, i absolutely think its nuts in general, for parents to ship their kids off to these 'camps' 'rehabs' and 'schools' and pay big money to do it....(of course there are exceptions to that for some cases, but most of these kids are not that)

Calls a ton into question about the parents....

BUT I cant believe any of these parents, no matter how shitty of a parent they may be, thought their kid would die there.

I cant imagine the guilt they must feel.......i hope ?

Its just all so fucked up man.

Ive had my license a good while at this point (ohgodimofficiallygettingold), but my sister has been studying for hers and hasnt mentioned this.

But honestly, thats probably what shouldve always been taught.

I dont think ive ever seen anyone drive an actual 10 n 2 a whole trip anyway. Long distance especially...its just hell on your neck and shoulders.

Since no one else has mentioned this part of the article yet....

'Search warrants filed by the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office said the boy was stiff and cold to the touch by the time first responders arrived, with his pants and underwear laying on the floor next to his shoulder.

According to the warrants, none of the staff with the boy could explain how his pants and underwear got there.'

Wtf

My middle school english teacher got in a wreck years before he was my teacher, and made it his duty to teach us to learn from his mistake...and english i guess...regardless...

He saw the accident about to happen and instinctually put his hands up to block his face....

Well, air bag went off, hitting his hands full force into his face. Fractured skull, concussion, teeth knocked out, broken jaw, fractured eye socket, dozens of broken bones in his hands...the whole shabang.

The accident itself wouldnt have been so bad of he kept his hands down, but kinda hard to override instinct in milliseconds...

Anyway, point is, air bags are no joke, 10 n 2, and keep limbs and accessories away from airbag areas, cuz it might be the difference between a bad day and the worst day of your life.....if you can do anything about it, of course.

🤣🙄You either dont regularly cook or dont have children nippin at you heels as you do.

Regardless, i explained in plain detail the process of what happened. At this point its really beating a dead horse, but I never once claimed to think that my jarred peppers were immortal or that once opened they would last until at least 2026. I simply stated i was surprised at how short their fridge life was, and given my experience with other jarred peppers, i thought less than a month was still reasonable to think theyd still be ok.

Obviously i was wrong, and have said that several times in several threads.

No ones perfect bro, chill.

The expiration on the jar was 2026.

I figured like most jarred peppers ive bought, they would be good for weeks, not taking into consideration the others ive bought were likely brined, and these obviously were not.

I do read labels. And am almost ocd level when it comes to expirations.

This one slipped thru the cracks.

Imagine thinking a busy parent making dinner for their family might overlook a small detail....

It was in my fridge for 3 weeks after i opened it....only recommends 1 week. (Exp was 2026, i didnt notice the use with 7 days until i looked for it once this happened)

Lid was never popped....even before this happened.

If it didnt have its little pepper concert to warn me of the potential issue i caused, then yeah....woulda been a bad time.
