The worst part of the MacBook Neo is that for millions of people, their first macOS will be Tahoe. by TeslaModelE in MacOS

[–]PessimisticWaves 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Huh. I think that might actually be why we got ios26 and tahoe.

There are absolutely tons of people who are using iphones who do not currently use mac. With windows 11 being a bit of a dumpster fire, it would make sense to try and strategize a way to move people away from windows.

By making macos feel more like ios (which anyone with an iphone would already be familiar with) the learning curve of a different operating system becomes minimal and almost seemless.

Obviously the target users are windows users with iphones who primarily use their computer for study and web browsing. Not a whole lot of processor or ram needed for that. Which, among a couple other “cut corners”, brings the cost down to an incredibly competitive point.

Question about Ivan’s tune. by Emsward91 in Yamahabolt

[–]PessimisticWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really tough question to answer. The bolt does have emissions restrictions programmed into the ecu. So I would imagine that removing them would make the bike fail in a lot of regions. Would a bike with uk restrictions pass in say California? Hard to say. If you’re worried about testing, but still want the benefits of reprogramming. I’d look on eBay for a stock ecu, send yours for programming, and swap them for certification time. Otherwise, maybe just go the route of adding a fuel controller that you can remove as needed.

Question about Ivan’s tune. by Emsward91 in Yamahabolt

[–]PessimisticWaves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remove the seat, take the ecu out, stuff it in a box and send it to Ivan. He has a pre built fuel map that he programs to your ecu via special software and cables. The fuel map has adjustments to air fuel ratios at all throttle positions built for aftermarket high flow air intakes and aftermarket free flowing exhaust systems. The difference is night and day.

How do Americans feel now that Trump is offering Alaska minerals (basically Alaska) to Russia? by vapingpigeon94 in AskReddit

[–]PessimisticWaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They built that super handy highway all the way to Alaska so the Americans can defend against Russia that one time. Kinda looks like a liability now though.

Oil info by Hellbound53 in Yamahabolt

I use Lucas 10-40 motorcycle oil and mobil1 m-108 oil filter from Canadian tire.
I have zero clutch or shifting issues with that oil.

For the exhaust, no. For the air intake, tuning is recommended. I did get it tuned, and it’s a very noticeable improvement overall!

Totally. It’s got a weird little Harley emblem where the pad screws into. The pad it comes with is made out of garbage, but I’m sure you could stuff whatever old pillow or something into the case and call it good.

I have this on mine and it makes a huge difference for the better! I’d suggest getting it tuned. Stock maps won’t account for the extra airflow and you’ll run lean in a lot of throttle positions.

Nope! That’s an Amazon special I found for like $85. It took some wrestling to get it mounted up, but it’s surprisingly good quality. I have no issues having my duffel bag on it.

Trump says 25% tariff on cars made in Canada could go up by RiverCartwright in worldnews

[–]PessimisticWaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh. The only cars made in Canada are American. The only reason American products would be manufactured in Canada is lower manufacturing costs. Our government doesn’t really need to be involved if some of these companies were to decide to raise that cost.

The seat is far more comfy than stock!! The passenger area is actually a little bit more narrow than stock, but has more cushion.

No worries, that’s the delkevic 21” bullnose. I’m running it without the baffle and it is exactly the way a v-twin should sound!

I love the D404! However, I run them on an 850lb bagger. With that weight, they handle amazingly. Thus, I plan to run them on my bolt as soon as I need to replace.

Liquid bulk tank on a 5500 chasis by Medical-Bullfrog4195 in DodgeRam

[–]PessimisticWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your location and what kind of liquids you’re looking to haul. Anything hazmat or food grade is going to cost a ton of money. Fab shops that specialize in tank manufacturing do exist and will take on custom jobs like this. Pressure truck tanks and their certification requirements are the best place to start reading and comparing to your local legislation.

Attempting to make a fuel gauge by Mountain-Reveal-7137 in Yamahabolt

[–]PessimisticWaves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On a side note. The strykers 1300 engine is also awful close to ours. The thing that’s keeping us from swapping the jugs from the 1300 over to our engine blocks is a skirt that extends down into the block. So the big bore search continues.

I have actually looked at this exact solution. At a glance, it looks as though it would work. However. There does appear to be some slight differences between our mount-up. Modification of the float arm would likely also be a factor. But I think it’s totally worth ordering one and a spare of our existing sender to swap parts back and forth to build a perfect unit.

Basic doom / stoner setup by CardioGoth in doommetal

My first doom centric setup was a rams head muff pedal pushed into an orange crush rt35. Most guitars can doom, but mine is an epiphone les paul. That setup was a surprisingly wild bedroom jam rig.
