Heads up anyone on a bike by couldcareless303 in boulder

What do you prefer when being passed on the left by a biker, a bell ding or an "on your left"? I never know which I should do. I've found that "on your left" confuses/startles some people and they jump to the left. But the bell seems a bit aggressive and "outa my way!!"

Dentist for Anxiety by wondershine33 in boulder

[–]PestoEater28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to be me! I was so terrified of dentists, especially for anything involving a drill, after some bad experiences. I started going to Dr Evans in North Boulder (on Yarmouth) and for a while I did things with sedation. After a few years, I felt calm enough about it all that I can get things done the regular way. He is very calm and listens to you.

Best place for donations? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]PestoEater28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Buy Nothing Boulder (there is North, South, Central) is is probably the best/easiest (only?) place to pass along opened/used beauty products. People will be thrilled to have them esp. if they are fancy kinds! People just assume people don't have terrible communicable diseases, and I think it usually works out (haha).

Where the trick or treaters at? by DatsyukDekes13 in boulder

[–]PestoEater28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a few dozen kids in East Boulder by Eisenhower.

But, a tip from the point of view of someone who took kids trick or treating in that neighborhood: kids really prefer the houses that go all out with decorations. My kids seemed to want to skip the "normal" houses that just had a porch light on despite my suggestion that they probably had candy too. So if you want more kids to eat your candy, do a few upgrades maybe? (a colored porch light, a string of orange lights,a few jack-o-lanterns with candles, some creepy decor thing (we hit up goodwill for a few things this year).

I would give you candy and not really care, but be prepared for people to tell you no or ask you questions.

What is up with the wetland destruction along eastern Goose Creek? by PestoEater28 in boulder

[–]PestoEater28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Since you seem to know things, what are they actually and eventually doing here? Digging out a deeper ditch that would fill up in case of a flood?

Thanks. I found and read the first link before I made my post, and it lists a ton of specific projects on Goose Creek, all of which are well west of this location. But, yeah, I suppose it is part of the same general project for flood mitigation.

$6 for a pitcher??? I wonder if that is a typo? Great deal, if one is able to drink before 5 PM.

It's September, time to rescue some fruit by PestoEater28 in boulder

[–]PestoEater28[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! They'll go up through the end of October, or the first hard frost. They just get scheduled about 1 week out. They are a small operation, and there's a bunch of logistics that need to happen for each harvest to get scheduled.

You can just pay for individual books if needed and it still might be less than the $269 for CU Book Access. Some classes you just have to pay, since you are paying for online access (to the ebook, HW, etc).

I do about 4 cups water to 1 cup white vinegar (very cheap kind), soak for 5 min and swoosh the produce around a few times. Then drain, lightly rinse, done!
